Made the Cut! is a statistically accurate shot by shot simulation of the PGA Tour. Each of the 2019 set golfers are unique and will perform according to various individual golf statistics provided they play a similar golf schedule as in real life. Each golfer was rated for their driving ability, ability to hit greens, short game and putting. The courses have been rated for each round of play and each hole, based on the 2019 statistics. This helps capture easy or tough pin placements; good or bad weather conditions and easy or hard holes in general.
Play a single golfer through his 2019 PGA Tour schedule, maybe just a handful of contenders or all players that Made the Cut! Play only the Majors, a handful of events or the entire season. The 2019 PGA Season Set includes approximately 260 golfers who earned at least a single Fedex point throughout the 2019 season AND played enough holes to record accurate statistics. It also includes courses and tournament information for all 44 events played out each week of the 2019 PGA Season!
The game includes a risk/reward strategy option for the player when taking approach shots to the Green. You can choose to play standard, with no adjustments to the Golfer card or you can choose to Pin Hunt (PH) or Safe Play (SP). PH reduces golfer’s chance to hit the green in regulation, but if they do, the golfer has a greater chance of sinking the putt. However, a missed Green is on the “wrong side", adding pressure to golfer’s Short Game play. On the other hand, a golfer choosing to SP will find it easier to hit the green in regulation, but leave a longer than normal putt. However, a missed Green is on the “right side”, taking pressure away from golfer's
Short Game play.

The third round course conditions and pin placement predict a tougher round by at least a stroke versus what the players faced in rounds 1 and 2 of 70.42 and 70.61, respectively.
3RD ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
RICKY BARNES: Entered the 3rd round as one of 7 players 5 strokes behind leader Snedeker, shot a round low -7, 65 with the help of an Eagle on the 537 yard Par 5 5th hole and excellent putting, 27 putts, to lead the tournament going into Round 4 by one stroke over Snedeker. Barnes was 1 of 2 when scrambling from rough and 1 of 1 from bunker, hitting 83.3% of GIR, despite finding the fairway only 50.0% of his drives.
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Shot a -1, 71, but still managed to hold onto a 2nd place spot because of his overnight 4 stroke lead. Snedeker was 0 for 1 when scrambling from rough and 3 of 4 from bunkers, hitting 64.3% of GIR and 81.3% of his drives.
3RD ROUND LOWLIGHTS:
ADAM SCHENK: Began the round at -8, just 5 strokes behind Snedeker, but shot an +8, 80 back to even par for the tournament and take himself completely out of contention. His round was marred by 6 bogies and 1 double bogie, with only 1 of 7 up and down saves, while hitting just 42.9% of GIR, despite 78.6% of his drives.
PHIL MICKELSON: Was just 3 strokes off the leader at -10 entering round 3, but shot a 4 over, 76 to fall 9 strokes off the pace. Mickelson couldn't find the greens all afternoon, only hitting 57.1% of GIR, leading to poor short game play, just 1 of 5 in rough saves and 1 of 3 in bunker saves. The featured pairing for the final round on Sunday will be Ricky Barnes, leading the tournament at -15, 1 stroke over his playing partner Brandt Snedeker. 16 golfers enter the final round within six strokes of the leader.
The final round course conditions, with traditionally tougher pin placements, predicts yet again a tougher round by at least a stroke over what the players faced in round 3.
Can Barnes hold off Snedeker and other challengers to win the inaugural tournament of the season or will he falter with the pressure? How much ground will Kevin Tway, winner of the actual tournament, make up, beginning the final round at -8, 7 strokes behind Barnes, but more importantly with 26 golfers in between himself and the leader?
I have received some excellent feedback from the community, so have added two new features to the Made the Cut! Golf Game
The new version of Made the Cut! includes a risk/reward strategy option for the player when taking approach shots to the Green. However, a missed Green is on the “right side”, taking pressure away from golfer's Short Game play.
Note, if a combination of PH/SP strategies were used for all 18 holes, the golfer would record a higher score versus playing the entire round Standard. There will be times in a Match Play event, at end of tournament when golfer needs to make something happen, when avoiding a large number is preferable to taking the chance with a Standard approach, etc. when playing these strategies are preferable.
The second change helps with immersion of the game play, but does not impact the statistical integrity of the game. Instead of a straight percentage roll to see if a golfer Goes for the Green? for Par 5's, now the result of the Par 5 Tee shot is significant. Hit the Fairway, most golfer's automatically go for the green. Miss the Fairway, only some golfers will still attempt the shot to the Green. An added benefit of this change is less die rolls : )
The two new files have been uploaded to the Google Docs DEMO site: Rule book and Player cards:

Will the tournament champion come from the final pairing of Ricky Barnes (-15) and Brandt Snedeker (-14)? Or will another golfer further down the leaderboard shoot a great round to win the tournament?
