Referees: Dave Hebner & Mac MacMurray
1. Norvell Austin over Brad Armstrong at 5:09 with a BIG assist from "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton. Eaton, who had joined Jim Cornette and Bill Caudle at the announcers' table, provided very little commentary during the bout prompting Caudle to question his purpose for being there in the first place. With Armstrong down on the mat and Referee Dave Hebner chastising Norvell Austin for his tactics, "Beautiful" Bobby suddenly jumped into action and crushed Armstrong with the Alabama Jam (Leg Drop off the top rope) behind the ref's back. Austin quickly made the cover once Bobby high-tailed it out of the ring and Hebner added the three count. Cornette chuckled, "I think Bobby just said something !"
2. Ric McCord was the beneficiary of a rules infraction to defeat "Ravishing" Randy Rose by DQ at 5:42. Randy tossed McCord over the top rope and out onto the floor (a no-no in Smoky Mountain) to draw the disqualification.
3. Despite the presence of his fellow Hitman tag team partner Killer Kyle, Frankie "The Thumper" Lancaster went down to defeat at the hands of Smoky Mountain Champ "Superstar" Bill Dundee and his Bomb Away finisher at 3:26 in a non-title match.
4. Miss Sylvia's Tennessee Stud Stable (Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden) over the Batten Twins (Bart & Brad) via Count Out at 6:11. Bart was down and out on the floor for the ten count.

With Jaggers caught in the middle of the ring in Oates' Spinning Toe Hold, Dutch ran into the ring to break up the hold. Referee Mac MacMurray immediately called for the bell and awarded the match to Oates.

1. "Hollywood" Bob Holly over Robert Gibson by DQ at 6:46. Holly caught a high flying Drop Kick in the mush from Gibson that sent him toppling over the top rope and out onto the floor. It was a judgement call by Referee Mark Curtis who chose to strictly enforce the rule against sending your opponent over the top rope and disqualified an incredulous Robert Gibson.
2. Porkchop Cash defeated Dr. Tom Prichard (w/ Jim Cornette) at 7:53. Cornette snuck up on the apron and was ready to do some damage with his trusty tennis racket but Cash saw him coming and gave the pesty manager a Noggin Knocker with Prichard. The "Doctor of Desire" stumbled backward into a Schoolboy Roll Up for the pinfall.
3. The Rose Cousins ("Ravishing" Randy & Pat) over the tandem of Dixie Dynamite (a masked Scott Armstrong) and Billy Joe Travis at 9:25. The Roses combined for a Spiked Pile Driver on Travis behind the referee's back while Mark Curtis was sending Dixie Dynamite back to his corner. Curtis turned around to find Pat Rose making the cover and counted the pin.
4. "Flamboyant" Eric Embry dipped into his tights for a hidden foreign object and socked "White Lightning" Tim Hoerner with a loaded punch to the head as he was being given a Back Suplex. Embry crawled on top of his KO'd opponent for the pin.
5. The Junk Yard Dog was Counted Out against "Tennessee Stud" Robert Fuller (w/ Miss Sylvia & Jimmy Golden) at 11:56. Fuller tossed the Dog OOR and argued with Referee Mark Curtis while Jimmy Golden ran JYD's head into a booth where Hancock High School Class President Haley Tomlinson was selling bids for the upcoming Senior Prom. Students scattered in every direction as the stand collapsed with a loud crash. The Dog was down and out for the ten count.

With Referee Joey Marella down on the mat, Yankem bashed Duke in the head with the trash can's lid. Marella recovered to find Yankem making the cover and counted the pin. Droese seems wildly popular in Quebec as he received a huge ovation during his entrance and high-fived the fans on his way down to ringside.
4. Bodydonna Skip (w/ Sunny) over Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly from Talladega, AL at 9:36. Holly whipped Skip into the corner and attempted to Monkey Flip him out, but Sunny held onto her man to block the maneuver. Holly fell back onto the canvas and Skip added two feet on the ropes for leverage to pin his opponent.
5. Ted Dibiase's Million Dollar Corporation (Irwin R. Shyster & "Supreme Fighting Machine" Kama) defeated the Caribbean Connection (Razor Ramon & Savio Vega) by Count Out at 10:31. Kama tossed Savio Vega out of the ring and distracted Referee Mike Chioda while Dibiase smashed Vega from behind with Shyster's steel briefcase. Vega could not make Chioda's subsequent ten count.
6. "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels (chewing gum in the ring and at his arrogant best) toyed with the 1-2-3 Kid for some ten minutes before pinning him with a Diving Elbow Drop off the top rope at 10:22. After the match, Michaels offered a hand to help his opponent get back to his feet but then slapped the 1-2-3 Kid in the face and laughed when the Kid took him up on his offer.
7. In the Main Event, The Undertaker (w/ eerie music and Paul Bearer) beat "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel at 12:35. Diesel was choking out the Deadman on the 2nd rope when Paul Bearer interjected himself and bashed "Big Daddy Cool" in the head with the urn. The chicanery went undetected by Referee Joey Marella who made the three count on the Undertaker's subsequent pin attempt on the KO'd Diesel. The urn had a noticable dent in it as the Undertaker and Paul Bearer returned to the dressing room.

5. The Beverly Brothers (Beau & Blake w/ The Genius) defeated the Arkansas hog farmers, The Godwinns (Henry O. & Phineas I. w/ Hillbilly Jim) by DQ at 10:03. Fed up with the Beverly's constant cheating and dirty double teaming tactics, Henry brought a bucket of slop in the ring and dumped it over Beau's head to draw the disqualification from Referee Tim White. Surprisingly, the Beverly's drew very little heat from the crowd during their entrance and introduction despite The Genius reciting one of his corny poems.
6. Intercontinental Title Match. Champion Bam Bam Bigelow defeated the challenger Hakushi (w/ manager Shinja) by disqualification at 12:57. Shinja ran into the ring to break up Bigelow's pin attempt after the champ connected with a Slingshot Splash into the ring from the apron. Bam Bam retains the Intercontinental Title.
7. In the Main Event, "Made in the U.S.A." Lex Luger over "Double J" Jeff Jarrett (w/ guitar, blinking sunglasses, the Fargo Strut and the Roadie) at 16:09. 3. The Repo Man (w/ tow hook & cat burglar mask) defeated Scotty Taylor by submission with the Crowbar (Single Leg Boston Crab ) at 6:32.
It should be noted the Shawn Michaels left the announcers' table at this point and did not return leaving McMahon to finish the broadcast without a color commentator. HBK paid little attention to the first three matches or the wrestlers themselves and preferred to talk about himself instead. McMahon challenged him to "get his head in the game" prompting Michaels to retort "get your head in this !" before walking off.
4. Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz gave the 1-2-3 Kid all he could handle before being Counted Out by Referee Joey Marella at 10:33. Schwartz sealed his fate when he missed a charge OOR and crashed head-first into the ring post.

Dibiase tried to bash the 'Taker with Shyster's steel briefcase but accidently hit his own man with it instead. IRS was easy pickin's after that as the Deadman finished him off with the Tombstone Piledriver for the victory.

5. Vacant NWA Tag Team Title Tournament Semi-Final Match. The Rock & Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) eliminated the Russians (Ivan Koloff & Krusher Khruschev w/ "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff) at 9:58. Khruschev was pinned by Morton after being flattened by an errant Russian Sickle from an interferring Nikita Koloff. Uncle Ivan tried to break up the pin but was intercepted by a Flying Drop Kick from Robert Gibson.
6. Steel Cage Grudge Match Main Event. "Boogie-Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant finally got his hands on hated adversary "Number 1" Paul Jones but things took an unexpected turn for the worst. Jones had brought his Army members "Superstar" Billy Graham and the Barbarian with him to ringside but it was the treachery and treason of Valiant's friend and tag team partner "Ragin' Bull" Manny Fernandez that ultimately did in the "Boogie-Woogie Man". Fernandez ran down to ringside to loud cheers from the fans as he appeared to be helping keep the Barbarian and Graham at bay, however it was merely a ruse as the "Ragin' Bull" showed his true colors and slipped a piece of lead pipe through the chain link wall to Paul Jones who used the weapon to KO Valiant and escape via the cage door at 14:11. The smirking Fernandez was pelted with debris by the raucous crowd as he returned backstage with Paul Jones, Graham and the Barbarian.

Fernandez drew tremendous heat in Greensboro after recently turning on "Boogie-Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant in Salem, VA. Fans heckled the Ragin' Bull with insults and held up "Traitor" signs to show their disdain.
3. Don Kernodle over cagey veteran "Wild" Bill White by submission with the Cobra Clutch at 6:26. In a post-match interview with David Crockett, Kernodle revealed that he would like a shot at "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes TV Title next week if the Dream would oblige him.
4. Chief Wahoo McDaniel defeated "Avalanche" Buzz Tyler at 7:33. This bout was stopped by Referee Mike Atkins who deemed Tyler unable to continue. McDaniel was all business and showed no mercy for his opponent in going after Tyler's knee with a series of grueling submission holds. To his credit, Buzz refused to quit but could no longer put weight on his injured leg after a prolonged Indian Death Lock prompting Atkins to call for the bell.
Ringside interview with David Crockett and a very somber "Boogie-Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant. The fans are not use to seeing Valiant like this and tried to rally his spirits by chanting his name. Valiant acknowledged their support but said that his heart was "broken in a million itty-bitty pieces" by his former friend "Ragin' Bull" Manny Fernandez. Valiant said that he trusted this man with his life and pondered what would ever possess Fernandez to turn his back on him and join forces with "Number One" Paul Jones. Valiant shook his head in disbelief and walked off the set.
5. Vacant Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match. Jim Cornette's Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) eliminated the team of Rick Steamboat & Jay Youngblood at 12:18. Eaton (the illegal man) came off the top rope with his Alabama Jam (Flying Leg Drop) on Youngblood while Referee Stu Schwartz was sending Steamboat back to his corner. With Referee Tommy Young down and out on the mat, Nikita and Ivan combined to viciously clothesline Magnum OOR with their chain. The U.S. Champ was writhing on the floor and clutching his throat in agony as Tommy Young recovered to administer the ten count. Magnum retains the United States Title but was stretchered away by EMTs to nearby Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital for x-rays.
Ringside interview with David Crockett and NWA World Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair with a fancy suit and the "ten pounds of gold". Flair was well received in his native NC until he accused Number One Contender Magnum T.A. of faking his injuries tonight to duck a match with him. Crockett was incredulous and couldn't believe what he was hearing from Flair. "Are you kidding me ?? You saw the footage !! The man nearly had his head taken off with that chain !!" Flair would have none of it. "David, trust me on this. It wasn't as bad as Magnum made it out to look. The man has a yellow streak down his back a mile wide."
Apparently Rick Steamboat couldn't believe his ears either. Steamboat joined the conversation to defend Magnum's honor only to have Flair ridicule him. "How does it feel to be eliminated from the tag tournament, Steamboat ?" the Nature Boy laughed. Steamboat did not take kindly to that and challenged Flair to put his World Title on the line against him. Flair asked the fans if they would like to see the match to which the Greensboro crowd responded with a roar of approval. Ever the showman, Flair then kicked off his dress shoes and jumped into the ring to egg Steamboat on. Ricky ran in to a barrage of reverse chops to the chest from the Champ and responded in kind with some overhand chops of his own. We see the Nature Boy bail out of the ring in his disheveled suit as the program goes off the air.

Lazer Tron hopped up to the top rope and was perched to deliver a diving splash when he was given a shove by Royal from the apron and crashed awkwardly to the canvas. Champion capitalized on the interference by delivering a high risk maneuver of his own - a Swan Dive Head Butt off the top to gain the pinfall.
3. Krusher Khruschev (w/ Ivan & Nikita Koloff) over "Downtown" Denny Brown via submission with the Cobra Clutch at 4:44. Brown's aerial assault was largely ineffective against the big Russian. Khruschev caught Brown's Flying Cross Body Press and countered with a backbreaker across the knee to set up the submission win.
4. Black Bart (w/ Ten Gallon Hat, Branding Iron & James J. Dillon) pinned Nelson Royal with his Texas Trash Compactor (Flying Leg Drop) at 6:32. 6. "Chief" Jay Youngblood over "The Rock" Ole Anderson by DQ for outside interference at 13:42. A great match that was spoiled by a run-in from NWA World Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair to precipitate the disquaification by Referee Walter Buckner. Flair was no doubt trying to send a message to hated rival Rick Steamboat by jumping his tag team partner from behind and applying the Figure Four Leglock to Youngblood. Ole Anderson assisted Flair's dirty work by tossing officials and midcarders alike from the ring as they attempted to make the save. Rick Steamboat finally came to the rescue and cleared the ring of both Anderson and Flair but the damage was already done. Jay Youngblood had to be stretchered off with a severe knee injury from the effects of Flair's Figure Four.
7. NWA Tag Team Tournament Finals. The Rock & Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defeated the Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) in a barn-burner to win the Tag Team Titles at 12:16. Jim Cornette did everything within his power to put the belts on Eaton & Lane including a tennis racquet shot to Morton's noggin while Referee Sonny Fargo was down and out on the mat. Unfortunately for the Midnights, Fargo was slow to recover and unable to make the three count on the downed Morton. Robert Gibson ran in and cleaned house of Lane and Eaton with a series of body slams, hip tosses and drop kicks. Fargo finally got back to his feet and was in the process of restoring order when the woozy Morton cradled Eaton from behind for the winning pinfall. The Rock & Roll Express win the NWA Tag Team Titles !!
