The bruised and battered Aries bumps into TNA Official Frank Coutinho on his way back to the dressing room sparking a heated confrontation.

Aries: "Got any more over-the-hill ECW lackeys to send my way, Frank ?"

Frank: "You were lucky tonight, Aries"

Aries smirks and holds the X Division belt up to Frank's face. Franks pushes it away. There's a tense staredown between the two.

Aries: "I'm the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived ! I don't need 'luck' to beat Jerry Lynn or anyone else !"

Frank: "Your days as champ are numbered, Aries."

Impact GM Hulk Hogan walks up and separates the men before the confrontation can escalate.

Hulkster: (To Frank) "Easy, Brother. I got this."

Aries: "Oh sure, you take his side, Hogan ? Everyone wants to see me lose this belt ! Well, don't hold your breath, fellas, because I plan on being the X Division Champion for a long, long time !!"

Hulkster: "Hit the shower, Aries. I've heard enough from you tonight !"

Aries: "You hit the shower, Hogan ! Better yet, tell your daughter to hit the shower and make sure it's a cold one at that !"

This time it's Frank's turn to hold back the Hulkster as Aries walks away snickering. Hogan is seething as Frank tries to calm him down.

With Christian York protesting the outside interference to Senior Official Earl Hebner, David Young smashed Brisco over the head with a nearby garbage can. Hebner issued the ten count on Brisco as the jaded Diamond stormed off with his team.

Backstage Segment

Austin Aries is summoned to Impact GM Hulk Hogan's office. The Hulkster does not look happy with Aries and tells him that due to "unforeseen and unexpected circumstances", Rob Van Dam will not be able to compete for the X Division title tonight. Aries feigns sympathy and shock for his opponent before finally bursting out with laughter. "That's too bad, Hulk. Oh, well," Aries smiles. He is about to leave the office when Hogan informs him that Frank Coutinho has found a replacement for the injured RVD. Aries' smile suddenly sours. He is seething with anger and demands to know who it is. The Hulkster just smiles and says, "You'll see, Brother!"

2. The outnumbered but spunky Taeler Hendrix lost to Mexican America's Rosita (w/ Anarquia & Homicide) at 5:48. 4. Chavo Guerrero & "Super Mex" Hernandez (w/ Sarita) defeated Simon Diamond's "Diamonds in the Rough" ("Prime Time" Elix Skipper & David Young) at 8:04. With Senior Official Earl Hebner knocked down in the action, Simon Diamond tried to sneak into the ring with a folding chair to smash Hernandez but was thwarted by Wes Brisco who had run down to ringside. Hernandez then gave David Young a DDT onto the chair in the ring as a woozy Earl Hebner crawled over to count the pin.

5. "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles pinned rival Frankie Kazarian (w/ "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels) with the Styles Clash (Upside Down Facebuster) at 11:03. Daniels then ran into the ring and also got a Styles Clash for his trouble.

6. In the Main Event, "Polish Power" Ivan Putski over "The Big Cat" Ernie Ladd (w/ Controversial Taped Thumb ) by DQ at 14:17. Putski, who stands at 5' 8" and is accustomed to wrestling opponents taller than himself, seemed positively dwarfed by the 6' 9" frame of the "Big Cat". Despite the height differential, the powerhouse Putski gave Ladd all he could handle. In a despicable act, Ladd locked Putski's arms up in the ring ropes and bashed him over the head with a folding chair to draw the disqualification. Several wrestlers ran in from the back to prevent a second chair shot. Putski was bleeding profusely and had to be helped to the back for medical attention.

6. Nothing was settled between popular masked man Red River Jack (Bruiser Brody) and "Playboy" Gary Hart's One Man Gang from Halsted Street, Chicago. The two brutes hit one another with anything that wasn't nailed down as they battled through the crowd and out a side door into the parking lot of the Pasadena night. Referee Ralph Pulley had no choice but to throw the match out at 9:12. Double DQ or Double Count Out - take your pick. Either ruling would be justified.

Mr. U.S.A. stalked the Playboy outside the ring but was intercepted by Khan and given a faceful of the mysterious green mist. The blinded Atlas could not find his way back inside the ring to make Referee Rick Hazzard's ten count.

6. Texas Tag Team Title Match. The Von Erich Brothers (Kevin & Mike) over Nicola Roberts' Dynamic Duo ("Gentleman" Chris Adams & "The Handsome Half Breed From Highland Park" Gino Hernandez by DQ at 12:27. The champs were on the ropes and in serious danger of losing their titles when Kevin Von Erich clamped the Iron Claw onto Gino Hernandez right in the middle of the ring while Adams and Mike Von Erich slugged it out on the floor. The wilting Hernandez flailed away and slugged Referee Bronco Lubich in desperation to draw the disqualification and save the belts. The Dynamic Duo retain the Tag Team Titles.

Announcers: Dan Coates & Johnny Weaver
Ring Announcer: Boyd Pierce
Referees: David Manning, Ralph Pulley & Marvin Jones

1. "Cowboy" Tony Falk (w/ Pink Stetson & Bandana) earned extra heel points for his pre-match travesty of a lassoing exhibition in the ring. Falk attempted to throw a lasso around Referee David Manning but only succeeded in getting himself tangled up in the rope and tripping over it. The fans were more than happy to see "Master G" George Wells put away the "Cowboy" after a Flying Shoulder Tackle from a 3-Point Stance at 3:39.

2. It was obvious to everyone in the North Side Coliseum except Referee Ralph Pulley & Buck "Rock & Roll" Zumhoffe that "Killer" Tim Brooks had loaded his knee pad with some sort of hidden foreign object while the Killer meandered around ringside. Zumhoffe found out soon enough when Brooks pinned him with a Flying Knee Drop off the 2nd rope at 5:51.

3. Billy Jack Haynes capitalized on an error by his opponent to defeat Kelly Kiniski at 4:58. Haynes played possum on the canvas and was able to lift a boot as Kiniski leapt off the top rope onto him. Kiniski took the foot to the jaw and crumpled to the mat for the three count.

4. Jim Cornette's Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey) were victorious over the Batten Twins (Brad & Bart) at 7:13. Brad Batten made an easy target for the Midnight's Rocket Launcher (Eaton assisted Splash from the top rope) after taking a Tennis Racquet smash to the head courtesy of Jim Cornette. As always, Cornette snatched away the house mic and did the honors of introducing his team prior to the match.

5. "Cowboy" Scott Casey (w/ Sunshine) over "Maniac" Mark Lewin (w/ "Playboy" Gary Hart) by DQ at 8:48. Hart may have saved his man from a possible pinfall but drew the disqualification on Lewin in the process by pulling David Manning out of the ring as the referee was applying the three count following a Bulldog from Casey.

6. Texas Title Match. There were many anxious moments in this title defense for Champion Kerry Von Erich as his challenger "Gentleman" Chris Adams (w/ Nicola Roberts) took him to the 20:00 time limit. Adams connected with his patented Superkick at one point but the Champ was able to get a foot on the ropes to break the pin count. The challenger may very well have been saved by the bell as he was caught in the Iron Claw Hold as time expired. The bout was declared a Draw by Referee Marvin Jones. Kerry Von Erich retains the Texas Title.

AWA Champion Rick Martel ran down to ringside and bashed Duncum in the head with his Championship Belt. The dazed Duncum staggered right into Crusher's patented Bolo Punch for the pinfall. After the bout, the enraged Martel had to be restrained by both Crusher and Dick the Bruiser from getting his hands on Lanza and Creatchman.

7. In the Main Event, the Wildman from Borger, Texas, Stan "The Lariat" Hansen defeated Big Scott Hall at 15:76. Colonel Debeers joined the announcer's table to provide guest commentary for the match.
