Why ? I guess because it's fun and I like to see how it ends ? What else would I do with a game , just play a game with random teams ? Maybe I don't understand your question.
I play full-season replays of my beloved CLEVELAND INDIANS through 162 game schedule and then I play out that season's playoffs.
It's fun, at least for me, to see how statistically accurate my players will perform as well as any tweaks I may add such as creating MARGINAL PLAYER cards to fill out the roster. In STRAT that is necessary to avoid over use. In games like PAYOFF PITCH BASEBALL, Joe provides a card for every player that played that season.
