ESPN presents the AWA (Circa Mid 80's) from the Showboat Sports Pavillion in Las Vegas, NV. Att: 4,640.

Announcers: Rod Trongard & Lord James Blears
Ring Announcer: Larry Nelson
Referees: Robert Warren, Gary DeRusha & Scott Ledoux

1. David Sammartino continues his quest for a shot at Mr. Saito and the AWA TV Title by defeating Pete Sanchez in tonight's opening match. Sammartino scored the pinfall with a Powerslam off the ropes at 4:31.

2. Madusa Micelli (w/ "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly) beat the Killer Tomato Debi Pelletier at 5:50. Kelly was unsuccessful in his attempt to trip the Tomato as she was being whipped to the ropes, however he did get Debi's attention long enough to allow Madusa to sneak up from behind with a Bridging German Suplex for the pinfall.

3. "Polish Prince" Steve Olsonoski over Soldad Ustinov (w/ Teijo Khan) at 8:02. Teijo sensed trouble and ran into the ring as Ustinov was being given an Airplane Spin by Steve O. The whirling Russian's feet knocked Khan back out of the ring allowing Olsonoski to gain the three count without any further interference.

4. "The Mercenary from South Africa" Colonel Debeers (w/ Twirling Mustache & Swagger Stick) over "Midnight Rocker" Marty Jannetty at 7:54. This match took a turn for the worst for Jannetty when the Rocker twisted an ankle after landing awkwardly following a leap frog over Debeers. Jannetty grimaced in pain and hobbled back to his feet only to be caught in a quick School Boy Roll Up from the vile Colonel for the pin. In typical Debeers' fashion, the Champion of Apartheid continued to stomp away on Jannetty's bad wheel until Shawn Michaels raced in to make the save. Jannetty threw an arm around Michaels' shoulder and had to be assisted to the back

5. "Playboy" Buddy Rose (w/ Manageress "Sensational" Sherri Martel & "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers) over Crusher Jerry Blackwell via Count Out at 7:47. Somers pulled the top rope down as Blackwell was being whipped to the ropes causing big Jerry to fall out of the ring and hit his head on the floor as he landed. Blackwell could not make Referee Gary DeRusha's subsequent ten count. DeRusha questioned the Pretty Boy about what had happened but Somers played the role of the innocent choir boy to perfection and denied any wrong doing.

6. Curt Hennig & Big Scott Hall defeated Sheik Adnan El-Kaisee's team of Boris Zhukov & Nord the Barbarian at 11:25. With Referee Robert Warren down and out on the mat, El-Kaisee slid a folding chair into the ring for his men to use. Zhukov picked it up and spun around only to have the chair sent crashing into his own face by a Missile Drop Kick from the top rope courtesy of Curt Hennig. Hennig hooked a leg as Warren recovered to count the pin.

1. Shannon Moore over Nunzio (w/ Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli) by DQ at 5:37. Stamboli tried to bash Moore with a blackjack but ended up hitting Referee Charles Robinson instead for the disqualification.

Note - Tim White replaced a still-woozy Charles Robinson as the referee for the balance of the card.

3. The Hurricane (Shane Helms) pinned Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia) at 9:25. Nidia began flirting with the Hurricane at ringside which infuriated Jamie Noble. As the jealous Noble scolded Nidia for her trashy behavior, the Hurricane snuck up from behind and cradled him for the pinfall.

Announcers: Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler
Ring Announcer: Lilian Garcia
Referees: Charles Robinson, Chad Patton & Nick Patrick

1. Christopher Nowinski & Maven (w/ Al Snow) were both DQ'd at 5:20. Nowinski attacked his former "Tough Enough" trainer Al Snow with a chair OOR and then gave Maven a chair shot as well. Maven came to Al's defense and retaliated with his own chair shot on Nowinski. Referee Chad Patton had seen enough and signaled for the bell.

2. The match between Spike Dudley (w/ Stacy Keibler) and Steven Richards (w/ Victoria) was a ruled a No Contest by Referee Charles Robinson when both participants and their valets got into a brawl before the bell had rung to officially start the bout. Richards and Victoria then challenged their adversaries to a mixed Tag Match on next week's Raw. Spike & Stacy accepted.

3. "Legend Killer" Randy Orton (w/ Ric Flair) defeated Shawn Stasiak at 3:32. In OOR action, Randy Orton bashed Stasiak head-first into the steel ring steps. Orton then rolled the dazed Stasiak back into the ring and made the easy pin.

4. Raven over Tommy Dreamer by Count Out at 6:16. Most of the action in this wild bout took place OOR. Tommy got tangled up in the TV Crew's wires and cables and couldn't make it back inside the ring in time to beat Referee Chad Patton's ten count.

5. Three Minute Warning (Rosey & Jamal w/ Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff) defeated the A.P.A. (Bradshaw & Faarooq) via Count Out at 9:42. 7. In the Main Event, the "American Badass" Undertaker defeated "HBK" Shawn Michaels at 15:24. The Dead Man gave Michaels the Last Ride (Elevated Powerbomb ) and then slapped on a Dragon Sleeper for good measure but HBK was already out cold after the devastating Powerbomb. Referee Charles Robinson immediately signaled for the bell and checked on Michaels after the bout.

WWE Smackdown (Circa 2002) - MCI Center, Washington, DC. Att: 13,703.

Announcers: Michael Cole & Tazz
Ring Announcer: Tony Chimel
Referees: Tim White, Mike Sparks & Brian Hebner

The program opened with Theodore Long issuing a challenge backstage to anyone on the Smackdown Roster who had the guts to get into the ring with his new protege Rodney Mack. Perry Saturn came out of the locker room and accepted the call. During the confrontation, a confused Eugene wandered into the camera shot and asked Long to direct him to the locker room. "Get out of my face, fool !!" Long shouted as he pushed Eugene out of the way. The lost Eugene tried several doors and ended up in the Janitor's Closet.

1. Perry Saturn over Rodney Mack (w/ Theodore Long) at 7:30. With Referee Mike Sparks down, Eugene ran into the ring with a mop and slopped it into Rodney Mack's face. The furious Mack lunged at him, but Eugene scooped him up into a fireman's carry and gave Rodney an Airplane Spin followed by a Fallaway Slam. Saturn pounced on Mack for the cover and Referee Mike Sparks recovered in time to count the pin.

2. Molly Holly pinned Nidia (w/ Jamie Noble) at 3:28. Noble reached into the ring and tried to trip Molly but ended up accidently tripping his own gal instead. As Nidia got to her feet, she was met with Molly Holly's Molly-Go-Round (Diving Somersault Body Block off the top rope) for the winning pinfall.

3. Eugene defeated Mark Jindrak with the Airplane Spin at 2:27. After the bout, Rodney Mack ran into the ring and jumped Eugene from behind. Mack clamped on the Blackout (Grounded Cobra Clutch with Body Scissors) while Jindrak joined in on the beatdown and put the boots to Eugene.

4. "The Strongest Man in the World" Mark Henry pinned B2 (Bull Buchanan) at 2:33 with The World's Strongest (Power) Slam.

5. The Un-Americans (Christian & Lance Storm) defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman at 3:08. With Referee Tim White sending Mysterio back to his corner, Storm bashed Billy Kidman with his Canadian Flag pole. Christian then finished off the dazed Kidman with the Unprettier for the pin.

6. Chris Jericho over "The Man-Beast" Rhyno at 12:31. Rhyno set up Chris Jericho in the corner for the Gore (Running Spear), but Jericho moved out of the way at the last second and Rhyno crashed shoulder-first into the ring post. Jericho then rolled him up with a handful of tights for the pin.

7. In the Main Event, "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) defeated Kane at 18:05. With both Lesnar and Referee Brian Hebner down, Paul Heyman entered the ring and tried to hit Kane with his briefcase. Kane grabbed Heyman by the throat and lifted him up for the Chokeslam, but Lesnar came from behind with a low blow and crawled on top of Kane as Hebner recovered to count the pin.

WCW/n.W.o. Results (Circa Mid to Late 90's) - Charleston Civic Center, Charleston, WV. Att: 11,821.

Announcers: Tony Schiavone & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
Ring Announcer: Dave Penzer
Referees: Randy Anderson, Mark "Slick" Johnson & Johnny Boone

1. High Voltage (Kenny Kaos & Robbie Rage) went down to defeat at the hands of the Armstrong Brothers (Scott & Steve) at 6:24. Robbie was able to use his strength to great effect in neutralizing the speedy Armstrongs, however he was caught in a Double Underhook Suplex by Scott Armstrong when he telegraphed a Back Body Drop attempt. Scott then elevated the woozy Rage in a Bear Hug for brother Scott to connect with a Missile Drop Kick from the top rope for the three count.

2. Bobby Blaze found nothing funny about "The Laughing Man" Hugh Morrus nor his manager "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart. As usual, Hart was a nuisance at ringside with his irritating megaphone. So much so that Blaze bailed from the ring and chased the annoying manager back up the aisle toward the dressing room. Referee Mark Johnson's ten count had run out before Blaze was able to return to the ring. The time of the match was 4:56.

3. Normally a corner man for the n.W.o., Vincent donned the tights to take on Kanyon in tonight's third match. Vincent was badly outwrestled and in a heap of trouble until several members of the n.W.o. made their way down the aisle. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Syxx and Buff Bagwell all milled around ringside looking to stir up trouble. Referee Johnny Boone was admonishing Kevin Nash for being up on the apron allowing Syxx to sneak in from the other side and deliver a Sit Out Facebuster onto the outnumbered Kanyon. Boone finally turned around to find Vincent draped across his opponent's chest and counted the pin at 7:13.

4. "Lionheart" Chris Jericho (w/ "Jerichoholics" T-Shirt and Head of Security Ralphus) beat Meng of the Faces of Fear at 6:08. With Referee Randy Anderson knocked to the canvas, Ralphus entered the ring and tried to help out his boss with a sloppy Double Axe Handle to Meng's back. In a rather comical moment, Meng slowly turned around, smiled at the dim witted bodyguard, and grabbed him by the throat in the Tongan Death Grip. Ralphus was wildly flailing away until Jericho broke the hold with a chair shot from behind. He then added a Lionsault (Springboard Moonsault off the 2nd rope) onto his downed opponent with the still groggy official making the three count.

5. Scott Hall (w/ his n.W.o. entourage) over Stevie Ray (w/ Booker T) at 10:40. The n.W.o. likes to stack the deck in their favor and once again used their numbers to great advantage in this bout. Booker T did his best to watch Stevie's back throughout the contest, but there was simply too much interference to overcome. Stevie Ray was perched on the 2nd rope and administering ten punches to Hall in the corner when Buff Bagwell threw a handful of powder into his face. Hall then hit a Reverse Atomic Drop and pinned his blinded opponent with both feet on the ropes for additional leverage.

6. This evening's Main Event battle between "Macho Madness" Randy Savage (w/ Gorgeous George & Miss Madness) & "The Total Package" Lex Luger (w/ Liz) was nearly overshadowed by the friction between the valets OOR. The girls were constantly in one another's faces and diverting everyone's attention with some rather heated confrontations around ringside. Referee Johnny Boone tried to keep the peace but the trouble found it's way into the ring when Miss Madness jumped on Luger's back as The Total Package was gesturing to the crowd to apply his Torture Rack onto Savage. Liz quickly ran in to add to the chaos as did Gorgeous George. Unable to clear the women from the ring, Johnny Boone finally had enough and called the match at 12:01. The official decision was a Double Disqualification.

WCW/n.W.o. Results (Circa Mid to Late 90's) - Arrowhead Pond, Anaheim, CA. Att: 14,110.

Announcers: Mike Tenay & "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko
Ring Announcers: Lee Marshall & Michael Buffer
Referees: Scott Dickinson, Charles Robinson & Nick Patrick

1. Screamin' Norman Smiley certainly had the crowd support behind him after wearing a Mighty Ducks' hockey jersey to the ring to take on looney David Flair (w/ Daffney Unger). Smiley motioned to the fans that he was ready to apply the Norman Conquest (Crossface Chickenwing) after catching his opponent in a Swinging Body Slam, but Flair was able to roll himself out of the ring in the nick of time. Smiley went right out after him and battered David around ringside until Daffney intervened. Norman was counted out at 5:53 after being clubbed from behind with a tire iron by Flair's equally looney goth girlfriend.

2. Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge & "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) beat the West Hollywood Blondes (Lenny Lane & Lodi) by DQ at 6:27. This match was temporarily disrupted when the snooty British Bluebloods ("Lord" Steven Regal & "Squire" David Taylor) came down to the ring to stir up some trouble. Taylor & Regal were chased off by Public Enemy, but eventually returned to alter the outcome of the bout. Lodi looked like he was down for the count after being hit by the Drive-By (Rocco Rock Assisted Sommersault Senton Splash from the top rope), but Regal ran in and smashed Referee Charles Robinson with the Union Jack flagpole to break up the pin. The dazed official had to be assisted to the back for medical attention after disqualifying the Blondes for outside interference.

3. There were jaw-dropping, aerial maneuvers galore when Rey Mysterio Jr. took on Psicosis in a fast-paced Luchador contest. Rey flipped out of a Liger Bomb attempt to daze Psicosis with a Sit-Out Facebuster before finishing him off with a Springboard Hurricanrana at 8:11.

4. The Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" brought the dancing Disco Inferno to the ring to face "Iceman" Dean Malenko. Fans were no doubt hoping to see the cocky Tony Manero wannabe tap out to Malenko's Texas Cloverleaf leg lock, but had to settle for a three count instead. Disco was pinned at 5:40 after catching a boot to the jaw on a missed high risk leap from the top rope.

5. Chavo Guerrero Jr. accompanied his Uncle Eddie to ringside as "Latino Heat" prepared himself to meet Harlem Heat's Booker T. The two Guerreros appearing to argue as they talked strategy before the bell. Against his nephew's objections, Eddie jumped Booker from behind with a sneak attack to gain the upper hand. Guerrero's bonus points were reduced, however, when Chavo pulled Booker from the ring to save him from further damage. This family rift would manifest itself once more at the conclusion of the match. Eddie was Drop Kicked from behind by Booker while engaging in yet another heated exchange with his nephew. Latino Heat crashed into Chavo who was up on the apron and stumbled backward into a Schoolboy Roll Up for the 1-2-3 at 8:36.

6. Michael "Let's Get Ready to Rrrrrrrrrrummmmmmble!" Buffer did the honors of introducing tonight's WCW Heavyweight World Title contest between the defending Champion Goldberg and Number One Contender "Hollywood" Hogan of the n.W.o. There was controversy a plenty right from the get go when shady Referee Nick Patrick came out to officiate the bout. Charles Robinson, who was originally scheduled to be the referee, mysteriously disappeared backstage while being treated for injuries sustained at the hands of "Lord" Steven Regal earlier on the card. Patrick has been accused of favoring the n.W.o. in the past. His actions this evening did nothing but confirm those allegations. The official (pretended?) not to see "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash put the challenger's foot on the bottom rope to save his from a would be pin after Goldberg hit his trademark Jackhammer (Suplex Powerslam) finisher. The irate Champ was chastising the corrupt Patrick for his partiality when he was hit from behind with a Low Blow between the wickets by Hogan and cradled for the winning pin at 11:16. Hollywood Hogan is the newwwwwwwww WCW World Champion ! (Note - It was reported that Charles Robinson was discovered bound and gagged in a janitor's closet after the show.)

WCW/n.W.o. Results (Circa Late 90's) - Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Rapid City, SD. Att: 8,660.

Announcers: Tony Schiavone & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
Ring Announcer: Dave Penzer
Referees: Mickey Jay, Billy Silverman & Mark "Slick" Johnson

1. Former WCW Cruiser Weight Champion "Sugar" Shane Helms is often the beneficiary of assistance from follow Three Count members Evan Karagias and Shannon Moore during his matches and this evening was no different. Helms' opponent Kaz Hayashi utilized his martial arts skills to great effect and had things going his way until the afore mentioned duo intervened. Kaz sent his adversary flying into the turnbuckle, but his attempt to Monkey Flip Sugar Shane out of the corner was thwarted when Helms' buddies grabbed onto his legs to block the maneuver. As a result, Hayashi fell flat on his back enabling Helms to pounce on him and gain the pinfall with both feet on the ropes for leverage at 6:07.

2. The bout between Los Villanos (Villano V & VI) and the Mamalukes (Big Vito & Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli) was all but over before it ever got started. The masked Luchadores were attacked with blackjacks by their foes during Dave Penzer's ring introductions and lost 400 points from the vicious assault. The Mamalukes continued the onslaught once the match officially got under way and dominated the action with their brawling style. Villano V was flattened by a Double Hip Toss off the ropes before being pinned by Johnny the Bull's Flying Leg Drop from the top turnbuckle at 4:30.

3. Something went terribly wrong at the conclusion of the match between the n.W.o.'s Buff Bagwell and "Ragin' Cajun" Lash Leroux that left everyone in attendance concerned. Lash was slow to get up following a Double Underhook DDT from Bagwell and then sustained the Buff Blockbuster Diving Neckbreaker from the top rope moments later. Referee Mark Johnson checked on Leroux and immediately signaled for help. Medical personnel rushed into the ring and attended to Lash for several minutes before the Ragin' Cajun was assisted to the back. Leroux received a nice ovation from the crowd and gave a thumbs up as he was taken backstage. The match was stopped at 5:42 with no decision declared.

4. The scantily clad Torrie Wilson drew a lot of attention as she accompanied Billy Kidman to ringside for his match against "The Belfast Bruiser" David "Fit" Finlay. Kidman himself seemed to be captivated by the beauty of his valet which was a recipe for disaster against the likes of his no nonsense opponent. Again and again, Finlay took advantage of the preoccupied Kidman with blatant chokes, double axe handles from behind and a devastating Pile Driver. The end came when Kidman ran into a raised knee on a corner charge and was pinned with a handful of tights at 7:53.

5. Perry Saturn grew impatient with his opponent Konnan's endless diatribe of catchphrases after the Mexican star borrowed Ring Announcer Dave Penzer's mic to address his fans in Spanish. Saturn gained bonus points for attacking before the bell, however he lost them right back two fold when his adversary retaliated with a microphone smash to the forehead. Konnan gained the upper hand in this see-saw contest with a Facebuster after Saturn telegraphed a Back Body Drop attempt, but Referee Billy Silverman was caught out of position on the subsequent pin attempt. Konnan was rolled up from behind for the three count while he was berating the official for the missed pin. The time of the fall was 9:33.

6. Diamond Dallas Page defended his United States Title against "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner in tonight's Main Event. Steiner drew a lot of heat from the crowd by insulting Rapid City in a scathing pre-match promo. Big Poppa Pump used the bonus heel points, as well as his Cheating Modifier, to make a serious run at DDP's championship. Steiner's valet Midajah tried to help the cause by spraying Page in the face with perfume, but ended up getting Referee Mark Johnson with it instead. The blinded official immediately called for the bell and disqualified Big Poppa Pump at 12:28. Diamond Dallas Page retains the United States Title.

Tony Schiavone ended the broadcast on a happy note by disclosing that x-rays of Lash Leroux at Rapid City Regional Hospital proved to be negative. The Ragin' Cajun is expected to make a full recovery after being injured in his match against Buff Bagwell earlier on the card.

Announcers: Mike Tenay & "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko
Ring Announcer: Dave Penzer
Referees: Charles Robinson, Jimmy Jett & Johnny Boone

1. Former CFL standout "Prime Time" Elix Skipper over Chavo Guerrero Jr. with The Play of the Day (Overdrive) at 4:16. This bout was nearly over before it even began after Guerrero was smashed across the back with his beloved stick horse "Pepe" during a pre-match interview with Mike Tenay. Chavito lost 250 points from the sneak attack by Skipper and was dominated from start to finish once the contest officially got under way. Guerrero was set up for the fall by Prime Time's Instant Replay (Thrust Spinebuster) after sustaining a Missile Drop Kick from the top rope moments earlier.

2. Berlyn (Alex Wright) defeated Ultimo Dragon with a little luck and a lot of help from his bodyguard The Wall at 7:12. Things looked grim for Berlyn after being caught in his opponent's devastating Dragon Suplex, however Referee Jimmy Jett was bumped in the process and sent crashing to the canvas. Ultimo was in the process of trying to revive the downed official when The Wall entered the ring, took him by the throat and planted the Japanese superstar with a huge Chokeslam. The bodyguard then dragged Berlyn on top of the Dragon before bailing from the ring. A woozy Jimmy Jett finally shook out the cobwebs, crawled over and counted the tainted pin.

3. Credit "The Dark Angel" Vampiro for The Insane Clown Posse's (Shaggy 2 Dope & Violent J) victory over High Voltage (Kenny Kaos & Robbie Rage) via Count Out at 7:05. High Voltage took control of this tag team contest following a Double Team Military Press Slam on Shaggy, but Vampiro shook the top rope as Kenny Kaos was trying to set himself to deliver a Diving Clothesline. Kenny took a bad spill to the floor and was unable to make Referee Johnny Boone's ten count thereafter.

4. La Parka beat Crowbar in a Hardcore Match at 8:33. Both men took turns battering one another with various objects pulled out from beneath the ring. Push brooms, a monkey wrench, snow shovels, aluminum garbage cans, and, dare I say, what appeared to be a Cannoli tray, all came into play, yet it was La Parka's signature folding chair that led to the finish. Crowbar was laid out after taking a chair shot to the noggin and then driven through a folding table with the luchadore's La Parkinator (Corkscrew Moonsault) from the top rope for the winning pinfall.

5. Meng got the early jump on his opponent when "The Laughing Man" Hugh Morrus let his guard down to jaw with some hecklers at ringside. As it turned out, Morrus could never mount any sort of sustained attack and found himself on the defensive throughout the bout. The Laughing Man's manager Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart sensed desperation once his man became trapped in Meng's Tongan Death Grip submission hold and tossed his megaphone into the ring in the hopes that Morrus would some how be able to get his hands on it. Unfortunately for Hart, Meng was able to retrieve the bullhorn first and bopped Morrus in the forehead with it. The Laughing Man caught a break, however, when Referee Jimmy Jett caught Meng hitting him with the megaphone and called for the bell. Your winner by DQ at 7:22 - Hugh Morrus.

6. Diamond Dallas Page put his United States Title on the line against "Iceman" Dean Malenko in tonight's Main Event. The challenger was able to use his Savvy Modifier to great effect and managed to successfully elude DDP's Diamond Cutter finisher on several occasions. The frustrated Page took the battle to the floor where he hoped to soften the Iceman up for the fall. Once again, the wily Malenko outsmarted the Champ by sidestepping a wild charge that sent DDP crashing into the announcers' table and jamming his shoulder in the process. Page was unable to get himself back inside the ring to make Referee Johnny Boone's ten count. Dean Malenko was declared the winner via Count Out at 12:43 with Diamond Dallas Page retaining the United States Championship.

1. "Sensational" Steven Dane opened the show with a win over "Private" Terry Daniels at 4:38. Dane may have taken his opponent a bit too lightly and was on the receiving end of the action for a good chunk of this match. On his knees and begging for mercy in the corner, Dane uncorked a Low Blow between the wickets and pinned Daniels with both feet on the ropes for leverage.

2. The Ebony Experience (Booker T & Stevie Ray) demolished the Dogs of War (Butch & Buster Blackheart) in a very lopsided tag team contest. Buster was flattened by a Spinebuster from Stevie Ray off the ropes and finished off with a Diving Leg Drop from the top rope by Booker for the 1-2-3 at 4:14.

3. "The Object of Desire" Billy Joe Travis drew absolutely no heat whatsoever during his ring entrance to face Jerry Lynn. Apparently the fans are having a difficult time accepting Billy as a heel. At any rate, Travis could have used the extra points tonight. Billy got caught in Lynn's Sleeper Hold and slugged Referee Rick Manning to save himself and draw the DQ at 6:52.

4. TV Title Match. The flamboyant "Palm Beach Heartthrob" Scott Anthony (ECW's Raven) successfully defended his belt against challenger Rattlesnake Raitz. Anthony was full of tricks tonight including the use of an ace bandage that was at first wrapped around his forearm and later wrapped around the Rattlesnake's throat. The Heartthrob then dipped into his singlet for a gold necklace that he had wore during his ring entrance and stunned Raitz with a loaded punch to gain the three count at 6:33. Scott Anthony retains the Global TV Title.

5. Light Heavy Weight Champ Terry Garvin (or Simms, if you prefer) beat Sweet Daddy Falcone (w/ Violin Case & Skandor Akbar) in a non-title match. (Falcone weighed in at 312 lbs and would be hard pressed to qualify as a light heavy weight). A missed corner charge was the story of this match. Sweet Daddy sent Garvin hard into the turnbuckle but hit the ring post when he tried to follow up with a running shoulder butt. The dazed Falcone was then rolled up for the winning pin at 7:47.

6. That daggum Black Bart (w/ Skandor Akbar) done gone and beat Big John Hawk (WWE's Bradshaw or JBL) via count out at 8:55. This bout seemed destined to end up on the floor where the two cowboys took turns dishing out the punishment on one another. The veteran Bart had the better of the fight (and the better of the weapon) as he bashed Hawk with his Double B Branding Iron while Skandor Akbar kept Referee James Beard occupied. Hawk could not answer Beard's subsequent ten count.

1. For some reason the Masked Marvel demanded that Ring Announcer Frank Coutinho introduce him as "The Great & Powerful Oz" but to no avail. Nevertheless, the Marvel chalked up another victory at the expense of Kit Carson in tonight's opening bout. The not-so-mysterious masked man, who often pauses to *ahem* pat himself on the back throughout his matches, employed some veteran finesse along with a lion's share of cheating before finishing off his opponent with a Northern Light's Suplex at 3:35. After the winner was announced, the Marvel insisted that Frank pat him on the back for a job well done. Mr. Coutinho chose instead to grab the back of the Marvel's mask and yank it off his head much to the delight of the crowd. Someone bearing a rather striking resemblance to Barry Horowitz burried his face behind his arms and fled to the back at mach speed.

2. Enjoying his popularity as a fan favorite in the GWF, the bearded "Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez paused to hug the ladies around ringside and earn some bonus points before entering the ring. Not to be outdone, his opponent "Psychotic" Ed Robinson left the ring in an attempt to hug some fans of his own but found no takers. As it turned out, Robinson had bigger problems waiting for him once back inside the squared circle. This was Perez' match from start to finish with the Latin Heartthrob scoring the pinfall following the Alley Copter (Crucifix Airplane Spin) at 3:41.

3. Looking like a heavy off the set of a Mack Sennett Studios' Keystone Cops production, Big Bully Busick brought his Bowler Hat and stogie to ringside to face young Ben Jordan. Once inside the ring, Busick wasted no time in dishing out the punishment with a flurry of kicks and roundhouse punches in the corner. A quick cradle by Jordan surprised the Bully but not long enough to hold his shoulders to the mat for an upset. Busik regained the advantage and finished off his opponent with the Bully Blaster (Heart Punch) at 4:14.

4. In a terrific light heavyweight contest, teen heartthrob Chaz pulled out a victory over Alex Porteau in the bout's closing seconds at 9:48. Porteau appeared to be going for either an Atomic Drop or Back Suplex, but Chaz managed to flip himself out of the maneuver to get behind his opponent and rolled Porteau up from behind for the 1-2-3.

5. Led to the ring by their flamboyant manager Christopher Love, the latest incarnation of the Pretty Young Things ("Hot Body" Randy Rhodes & "Erotic" Eric Fontaine) faced off against Steve Simpson & "Conan" Chris Walker. While Love was a major force in this match with his constant interference, it was his own actions that ironically led to the downfall of the PYT. Love attempted to spray perfume in Chris Walker's eyes but ended up getting Randy Rhodes with it instead. Walker then scaled the top rope and delivered a Diving Cross Body Press to the blinded Rhodes for the winning pinfall at 8:53.

6. In a prematch interview, "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel said that he came to the GWF for one reason and that was to take "Polish Power" Scott Putski's North American Title. Landel took a step in the right direction with a big win over the "Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord in tonight's Main Event. Gaylord was able to escape Landel's Figure Four Leg Lock on two separate occasions - once by grabbing the bottom rope and the other by rolling himself over to reverse the pressure onto the Nature Boy - but committed a fateful error shortly afterward. Imploring the fans for their approval, Gaylord took way too much time climbing up to the top rope and was thrown to the mat by Landel. The Nature Boy then followed up with his trademark Corkscrew Elbow Drop for the three count at 9:27.

1. Youngster Larry Green gave up a ton of weight to his opponent Makhan Singh of the Cartel and it came home to roost in the outcome of tonight's opening bout. To his credit Green was able to avoid the Karachi Krunch (Corner Avalanche) but his inexperience led him to attempt a Sunset Flip on a would be Back Body Drop attempt. Singh answered with a Sit Down Splash onto Green's chest for the three count at 4:02.

2. "The Original Tugboat" Tug Taylor defeated "Mean" Mike Stetson at 4:46. Stetson lived up to his name with a rough house style and some dirty tactics but Tug was equal to the challenge and gave his opponent a taste of his own medicine. A missed splash by Mean Mike allowed Taylor to scale the top rope and land the Anchor Drop (Elbow Drop) for the winning pinfall.

3. There was simply too many distractions for Referee James Beard to officiate the "Gorgeous" Gary Young / "Rugged" Rod Price match effectively. The Coast to Coast Connection used their numbers advantage to great effect in securing a win for Price. While Skandor Akbar argued with Beard, "Hollywood" John Tatum snuck into the ring and delivered a California (Super) Kick to Young's jaw. Beard finally turned around to find Price making the cover and counted the pin at 7:53.

4. "The Pride of Montague County" Cowboy John Mantel over Bobby Duncum Jr. by way of Count Out at 8:38. A pretty even match up that turned in Mantel's favor once the action moved to the floor. Mantel appeared to pull a horseshoe from the saddle bag that he had brought to ringside with him during his entrance and slugged Duncum in the head with it during the battle OOR. Bobby was seeing stars and down and out for Referee Frank Morrell's subsequent ten count.

5. Tribal Nation aka the Renegade Warriors ("Brave Sky" Chris Youngblood & "Nikona" Mark Youngblood) defeated the Dirty Davis Brothers (Tom & "Maniac" Mike) by DQ at 11:20. It looked like curtains for Tom Davis when the Warriors landed Double Leaping Tomahawk Chops to the head from the top rope. Mike Davis must have thought so as well and pulled Referee Shawn O'Brien out of the ring by his ankles to break up Nikona's pin attempt prompting the disqualification.

6. The Main Event bout featuring the Dark Patriot and popular South African Steve Simpson resulted in a Double Count Out at 8:55. Both men took turns sending each other head-first onto the timekeeper's table after the action spilled OOR. They continued the fight back up the aisle toward the dressing room as Referee James Beard's count reached ten.

1. The Lightning Kid continued his quest for the Light Heavyweight gold by defeating Scott Hodges in tonight's opening contest. The Kid's high risk aerial attack is a harbinger of things to come in the world of professional wrestling. Spectators in Fort Worth were in awe to see Lightning sail over the top rope with a twisting body block that sent both he and his opponent crashing hard to the floor. When the action finally returned to the squared circle, the Kid put Hodges away with the Cloud Burst (Powerbomb ) at 5:39.

2. "Primetime" Brian Lee came to the ring sporting a beautiful sequin robe and was attacked from behind by opponent Khris Germany as he attempted to hand it to a ring attendant. Germany continued his assault with some clubbing forearms in the corner but missed a charging shoulder butt and hit the ring post. Lee then took control with a high Verticle Suplex and followed up with a Flying Knee Drop from the top rope to gain the pinfall at 5:11.

3. "Hard Body" Calvin Knapp defeated Billy Joe Travis by disqualification at 7:32. It was clear from the opening bell that there was friction between Travis and Referee Paul Neighbors. The situation magnified when Billy Joe accused the official of biasness and a deliberate slow count after Knapp was able to kick out of a Flying Cross Body Press pin attempt. In frustration, Travis decked the ref with a roundhouse right to the jaw to draw the DQ. The woozy Neighbors had to be helped to the back afterward.

4. Bull Pain got some help from valet Samantha to beat "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord. With Referee John Keaton knocked to the canvas, Samantha slid a folding chair into the ring which Bull promptly used with a smash over his opponent's back. It was lights out for Gaylord as Keaton recovered to make the three count at 8:08.

5. The Blackbirds (Iceman King Parsons & Action Jackson w/ Witch Doctor Baboose) over the Texas Mustangs (Big John Hawk & "Cowboy" Bobby Duncum Jr.) in rather dubious fashion at 10:27. Once again the official took a bad bump leading to the finish. This time it was James Beard who was toppled to the mat after being sandwiched in between Parsons and Hawk as they collided off the ropes. The Iceman struggled to get back to his feet and became caught in a Small Package for what seemed like a count of eight. With the ref still down and Jackson and Duncum slugging it out on the floor, Baboose snuck inside the ring and reversed the cradle on Hawk. Beard finally recovered to find Parsons on top and counted the pin.

6. Light Heavyweight Champion Terry Garvin's title defense against challenger "Sensational" Steven Dane in tonight's Main Event got off to a shaky start when he was ambushed from behind by the Lightning Kid during a pre-match interview with David Webb. The attack cost Garvin 100 points but Dane was unable to capitalize on his golden opportunity. As fate would have it, the Lightning Kid decided to stick around and cause more trouble which backfired on the challenger in a big way. Garvin was able to duck under a martial arts spin kick from the Kid but his opponent was not so fortunate. Dane was leveled by the errant boot to the head leading to the winning pinfall at 9:54. Terry Garvin retains the GWF Light Heavyweight Title.

1. ”Young Stallion” Jim Powers (w/ Paul Roma) beat Goldie Rogers (w/ Ted Grizzly) in our opening contest at 7:07. This is the first time that we’ve seen Grizzly and Rogers together. Gorilla Monsson speculated as to whether or not the two have formed an alliance of some sort behind the scenes. Whatever the reason was for his being there, Grizzly attempted to interfere by reaching into the ring to trip Powers, but ended up getting Goldie instead. Rogers stumbled right into a Powerslam from the Young Stallion for the pinfall. Grizzly immediately rushed into the ring to right his wrong by attacking Powers from behind which prompted Roma to also enter. The Stallions chased off their antagonists and were then interviewed by “Mean” Gene Okerlund afterward. Roma & Powers issued a challenge to Grizzly & Rogers for a tag team match next week.

2. Hillbilly Jim defeated Moondog Spot by way of Count Out at 5:27. Spotty may have gotten the early jump on Jim by hitting him from behind with his nasty dog bone during Howard Finkel’s match introductions, but karma would come back to haunt him in the end. Spot took the battle to the floor where he attempted to use the bone once again on his foe, but Jim was ready for him this time and reversed the smash. The dazed Moondog staggered around ringside and was counted out by Referee Gilberto Roman.

3. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine over Jose Luis Rivera at 9:57. Valentine seemed overly preoccupied with Pedro Morales who had joined Gorilla Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes at the announcers’ table to provide guest commentary for the bout. Rivera was able to take advantage of Morales’ presence by catching the Hammer in several pinning predicaments but he was unable to score the decisive three count. Valentine finally got down to business and methodically wore down Rivera by going to work on his left knee. The punishment took its toll and precipitated a submission to Valentine’s trademark Figure Four Leg Lock. After the bell, the Hammer showed his sadistic side by refusing to release the grueling hold. Pedro Morales was having none of that, however ! The Latin star threw off his headset and raced into the ring to chase off Valentine.

4. King Kong Bundy (w/ manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) pinned “Golden Boy” Danny Spivey at 6:36. Not only did Bundy score extra points for drawing big time heat in Poughkeepsie, the superheavyweight from Atlantic City also added to his total by rolled on his Cheating Modifier. As if that didn’t hurt Spivey’s chances enough, the Golden Boy was also the victim of a fast count by Referee Jack Lutz on the winning pinfall after Danny ran into Bundy’s raised knee on a corner charge.

5. The fans were treated to an unofficial and impromptu match between hero-turned-heel Sergeant Slaughter and his former protégé Corporal Kirchner. All the trouble began when Kirchner’s interview with “Mean” Gene Okerlund was rudely interrupted by his mentor. The Corporal accused Slaughter of ”treason” and “betraying” the Cobra Corps and his fans. As one might expect, the Sarge did not take kindly to those strong words and the fight was on. Both men took their battle into the ring. What ensued was a prolonged brawl with Kirchner eventually gaining the advantage after flattening the former Marine Drill Instructor with a Flying Clothesline off the ropes. Slaughter was able to roll himself OOR before the Corporal could plant him with the Parachute Drop (Fallaway Slam/Samoan Drop). The Sarge grudgingly retreated to the back while Kirchner waved Old Glory in the ring and basked in the cheers of the fans.

6. The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & the Dynamite Kid) over Rowdy Roddy Piper & “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff via Count Out in a tag team contest at 10:04. The story of this bout was the Bulldogs speed and teamwork for which Orndorff and Piper could find no counter. Things looked grim indeed for the heels when Dynamite perched himself on the top rope to deliver what was sure to be his Swan Dive Head Butt finisher onto a down-and-out Roddy Piper, but Mr. Wonderful pulled his dazed partner out of the ring before the maneuver could be attempted. Invoking the strategy that discretion is the better part of valor, Orndorff and Piper opted to head to the back and fight again another day as Referee Dick Woehrle laid the ten count on them.

7. Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka topped “Macho Man” Randy Savage (w/ “Pomp & Circumstance” entrance music and Miss Elizabeth) in the Main Event at 21:15. Snuka actually extended the Macho Man a handshake to get things started, but Savage declined the offer. The Superfly merely shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to take the fight to his opponent. Time and time again, Savage bailed from the ring for a timeout to break Snuka’s momentum; sometimes going so far as to pull Miss Elizabeth in front of himself to act as a shield while he regrouped. The Macho Man seemed to always be a step behind his adversary for the entire match, none more so evident than at the conclusion of the bout. Savage whipped the Superfly hard into the corner, but missed on a follow up charge after Snuka had hopped up to the top rope. Jimmy then delivered a Sunset Flip from the turnbuckle to score the winning three count.

1.The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers) opened the show with a convincing win over the tandem of Goldie Rogers & Ted Grizzly. The Stallions demanded this match after Grizzly interfered in a singles match between Powers and Rogers in Poughkeepsie, NY. Roma scored the winning pinfall on Grizzly with a Splash off the top rope at 4:21 after Goldie accidentally decked his partner with an errant Clothesline.

2. In another Grudge Match of sorts, “The Brooklyn Brawler” Steve Lombardi beat the Tonga Kid via Count Out at 7:11. Lombardi has shown a much more aggressive style with his new persona and has some recent victories in the squared circle to show for it. The Brawler wasted no time in getting down to business and attacked his foe while Tonga was climbing through the ropes for the match introductions. This bout eventually ended up on the floor where Lombardi clocked the Kid with Ring Announcer Howard Finkel’s microphone. The blow dazed Tonga just long enough to get him counted out by Referee Jack Kruger.

3. Some interference gone awry helped Pedro Morales defeat “No.1 Frenchman” Rene Goulet (w/ Mysterious Glove and Frenchy Martin) at 5:51. Martin, who had been waving a French flag around ringside to distract Morales, accidentally bashed Goulet in the back with it when Pedro moved at the last instant. The miscue enabled Morales to land a Running Senton Splash across the No. 1 Frenchman’s chest and gain the three count.

4. “Samurai Warrior” Mr. Fuji (w/ The Magnificent Muraco) over Salvatore Bellomo at 6:53. Bellomo actually dodged a bullet by ducking in the nick of time when the devious Fuji attempted to throw ceremonial salt in his eyes. Unfortunately for Bellomo, his adversary had a backup plan in the form of Muraco who reached into the ring and tripped Sal as he bounded off the ropes. Fuji quickly followed up with a Banzai Drop (Diving Head Butt) to the solar plexus for the 1-2-3.

5. “Adorable” Adrian Adonis (w/ manager Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart) was DQ’d in his match against “Leaping” Lanny Poffo at 10:06. In his customary fashion, Lanny recited one of his poems before the bell and received a ton of cheers from the crowd to boost his points total. (It probably helped that the subject of his prose was a flattering portrayal of the City of Providence!) Again and again, the agile Poffo was effectively able to utilize his speed to keep the rotund Adonis at bay. With frustration mounting, Adorable Adrian tried to spray Lanny in the face with his “Fragrance” perfume, but ended up getting Referee Jack Kruger with it instead. The blinded official immediately signaled for the bell and had to be assisted to the back for medical attention.

6. Blackjack Mulligan over the Iron Sheik (w/ Classy Freddie Blassie) by disqualification at 23:45. As always, the hated Sheik drew the wrath of the fans to earn himself additional bonus points. Perhaps it was a ruse to throw Mulligan off his game, but the Sheik wrestled a fairly clean and scientific match for the most part. Alas, he finally showed his true colors but clobbering the big cowboy from Eagle Pass, Texas over the head with a folding chair. Unpredictable and controversial Referee Danny Davis saw the foul and called for the bell to give Blackjack the victory.

7. Bobby “The Brain” Heenan’s WWF Tag Team Champions “Olympic Strongman” Ken Patera and Big John Studd successfully defended their titles against the Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & “Jumping” Jim Brunzell) in tonight’s Main Event at 12:14. The champs were fortunate to roll on their Strength Modifier, but it was cheating that would bring them victory in the end. Big John clocked Brunzell from behind with one of the Tag Team Title belts while Referee Dave Hebner was sending B. Brian Blair back to his corner. Hebner turned around to find Patera making the cover on the KO’d Killer Bee and counted the tainted pinfall to give the Heenan Family the victory.

1. Our opening contest pitting Jose Luis Rivera against Terry Gibbs ended in a Double Disqualification at 9:26. Gibbs, a native of Tampa, Florida, drew big time heat by flipping off the Dayton fans during Howard Finkel’s match introductions. The bout was rapidly approaching its ten minute time limit when both grapplers simultaneously pushed Referee Joey Marella down to the canvas after the official tried to break up a prolonged slugfest between the two competitors.

2. Jimmy "Superfly” Snuka & the Tonga Kid topped the Brooklyn Brawler & “High Roller” Barry O at 8:55. Tonga and the Brawler have been embroiled in a bitter feud over several months now and decided to enlist partners to join them in their latest battle this evening. The turning point of this tag team contest came when the heels attempted to whip their opponents into one another from opposite corners of the ring. Snuka and his cousin thwarted their strategy by putting on the brakes and reversing the maneuver on their adversaries. Tonga then took out the Brawler with a Leaping Head Butt while Snuka pinned the dazed Barry O with his Superfly Splash from the top rope.

3. Tiger Chung Lee defeated George “The Animal” Steele via Count Out at 6:10. Steele may be a fan favorite now, but his aggressive and highly unorthodox style remains the same. The Animal took this bout to the floor where he is most comfortable but had the tables turned on him (literally) by Lee. Steele was Body Slammed through the timekeeper’s table by his opponent as the two battled around ringside. The Animal was unable to recover in time to make Referee John Benello’s ten count.

4. “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff (w/ “Rowdy” Roddy Piper) and Raymond Rougeau (w/ brother Jacques) were both disqualified at 5:23. It did not take long for the respective corner men to get in on the action. The trouble began when Piper reached into the ring and tripped Raymond as he was being whipped to the ropes by Mr. Wonderful. Jacques was having none of that and took Hotrod to task. The two began trading haymakers on the floor. Their donnybrook soon ended up inside the ring with Orndorff and Raymond also getting involved. Referee Joey Marella was unable to restore order and called for the bell.

5. Terry & Hoss (Dory Jr.) Funk beat Hillbilly Jim & Uncle Elmer in tag team action by Referee’s Decision. The Funks used their ring savvy to help bring them victory. Terry laid out big Elmer with a Double XX branding iron smash while Hoss kept Referee Jack Lutz occupied. The blow opened a deep laceration on Elmer’s forehead causing him to bleed profusely. Lutz examined the wound and deemed him unable to continue at 9:27.

6. Sergeant Slaughter over former protégé and Cobra Corps. recruit Corporal Kirchner in a Boot Camp Match at 9:21. The rules of this brutal bout featured no count outs, DQs nor time limit. The pupil thought that he could teach his mentor a thing or two about brawling but was clearly over-matched in that regard. Kirchner was carried out on a stretcher following several vicious smashes to the head with Slaughter’s steel combat helmet.

7. Nikolai Volkoff (w/ Classy Freddie Blassie) defended the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Tito Santana in tonight’s Main Event. The challenger wasted no time in getting down to business and interrupted Volkoff’s rendition of the Soviet Nation Anthem with a Drop Kick to the chops. Despite his initial advantage, Santana was eventually worn down by the big Russian’s brawn and brawling. He did manage to connect with his patented Flying Forearm, however the maneuver sent Volkoff crashing into Referee Joey Marella. Tito looked as though he would win the title, but the KO’d official was unable to count the pin. Referees John Benello and Jack Lutz immediately rushed in to attend to Marella and stopped the match at 10:47 with no winner declared. Nikolai Volkoff retains the Intercontinental Title with a rematch scheduled for next week at the Boston Garden.

1. Salvatore Bellomo over A.J. Petruzzi in the opener at 5:51. Petruzzi got off to a fast start with a Double Axe Handle from behind while Bellomo was being interviewed by “Mean” Gene Okerlund at ringside prior to the bell. Sal was able to mount a comeback, though, after his adversary missed a high risk leap from the top rope. The dazed Petruzzi slowly got back to his feet but caught a Mule Kick to the kisser from Bellomo which put him down for the three count.

2.”No. 1 Frenchman” Rene Goulet (w/ Mysterious Glove & Manager Frenchy Martin) defeated Mario Mancini at 3:55. Goulet spent much of his time jawing with the fans before getting into an altercation with Referee Danny Davis. It was all a ruse to enable Martin to sneak into the ring behind the preoccupied official’s back and bash Mancini from behind with his French Flag. Goulet then clamped on his Le Scorpion Claw Hold to gain the submission victory.

3. Samoan Samu (w/ Samoan Afa) beat S.D. “Special Delivery” Jones at 12:49. This was a battle of hard noggins. Both competitors normally have a great deal of success with Head Butts, but found it ineffective against their opponent tonight. Despite incurring several cheap shots from Afa along the way, Jones hung in there and nearly scored a pin with a Reverse Roll Up. Special Delivery was going for a Backslide when Samu was able to counter the maneuver into a Samoan Drop to score the winning 1-2-3.

4. King Kong Bundy in a squash (literally) over “Leaping” Lanny Poffo at 1:50. Giving up a great deal of size and weight to his foe, Poffo needed all the help that he could get. Lanny tried to score some bonus points by reciting one of his corny poems before the bell, but the fickle fans booed him instead. Undaunted by the cold reception, Poffo attempted a couple of aerial maneuvers to keep his lumbering opponent off balance and on the defensive. A Flying Cross Body Press met with disaster, however, when Bundy caught him in mid-air and planted Lanny with a ring shaking Powerslam for the quick pinfall.

5. The Hart Foundation (Bret “The Hitman” Hart & Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart w/ Manager Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart) over the Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & “Jumping” Jim Brunzell) in tag team action at 9:15. The turning point of this contest came when Blair suffered a legit ankle injury after landing awkwardly on a leap frog attempt over Bret Hart. The Hitman wasted no time in cradling the gimpy Killer Bee in a Small Package to give his team the win.

6. In what was easily the best match of the night, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat (w/ Spectacular Fire-Breathing Entrance) defeated “Ace” Cowboy Bob Orton (w/ “Rowdy” Roddy Piper) via disqualification at 22:51. The crowd was treated to a highly scientific bout when Orton, who usually likes to take shortcuts and bend the rules, chose to showcase his technical skills instead. The pugnacious Piper shouted encouragement to his body guard from the corner throughout the contest, but refrained from interfering …… that is until Orton was decked by the Dragon’s Leaping Overhead Chop to the noggin from the top rope. Rowdy Roddy reached into the ring and disrupted Referee Henry Terranova’s pin count to draw the disqualification on Orton.

7. Nikolai Volkoff (w/ Classy Freddie Blassie) once more defended the WWF Intercontinental Title against Tito Santana in this evening’s Main Event. (Their match last week in Dayton, OH was declared a “No Contest” after Referee Joey Marella was KO’d during the action.) Volkoff drew big time heat (and bonus heel points) by singing the Russian National Anthem following Howard Finkel’s match introductions. Nevertheless, the challenger carried the fight to him. Indeed, Santana seemed poised to win the title tonight. Freddie Blassie must have thought so as well because he slid the Intercontinental Belt into the ring for Volkoff to use. Santana got to it first, however, and bashed the big Russian in the forehead. Unfortunately, Tito’s indiscretion was caught red-handed by Referee Dave Hebner who wasted no time in calling for the bell. Nikolai Volkoff retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship by way of DQ at 13:38.

1. Ricky Harris had the crowd's support firmly behind him as he took on the Angel (Frank Morrell) in our opening contest. Harris had to overcome his opponent's wealth of experience and Savvy modifier, but caught a huge break when the veteran from France attempted a high risk leap. The Angel is not accustomed to climbing the ropes and took too long getting to the top. Harris, playing possum on the canvas, was ready for him and knocked the wind out of his foe when the Angel's Splash landed on raised knees. Ricky then cradled his dazed opponent for the three count at 10:53.

2. Ted & Jerry Oates bested Chick Donovan & Mike Davis in tag team action. Davis got his team off to a good start by catching Jerry Oates with the ol’ phony heel handshake bit. Donovan and Davis maintained their advantage with the aid of some dirty double teams and by manipulating Referee Jimmy McGuire’s attention. Again and again, Jerry was able to reach his corner for a tag, but McGuire would always miss it and kept sending the frustrated Ted Oates back out of the ring. Donovan was leveled by an errant haymaker from his partner finally enabling the tag to be made. A fired-up Ted cleaned house of the heels with a series of Hip Tosses, Body Slams and Drop Kicks. A revitalized Jerry Oates was then tagged back in and pinned Mike Davis with a Flying Body Press at 4:37.

3. Steve O (Olsonoski) over Big Jim Duggan in a grudge match. For reasons known only to himself, Duggan has taken a severe disliking to Olsonoski ever since the native of Edina, Minnesota first arrived in Georgia. Duggan has interrupted Steve O’s interviews and even attempted to injure him with a folding chair smash. Olsonoski has been counting the days to this bout and very much looking forward to some sweet retribution. Steve O had had some difficulty getting Duggan off his feet, but got some measure of revenge by putting Big Jim away with an Airplane Spin at 6:49.

4. The Super Destroyer (a masked Scott Irwin) beat George Wells at 13:13. The Destroyer has hinted about forming a tag team with a mystery newcomer to GCW over the past few weeks. We may have gotten a clue as to the identity of the potential partner when Big John Studd came down to ringside to be in the masked man’s corner this evening. The hulking 6’ 7” Studd’s presence clearly served as a distraction to Wells. The Destroyer used the diversion to doctor his mask with some sort of foreign object and delivered a Loaded Head Butt to pin Well’s shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3.

5. Michael Hayes (w/ fellow Freebirds Buddy Roberts and Terry Gordy) was DQ’d in his bout with the Junk Yard Dog at 11:26. The fans were really into JYD’s entrance to Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” and awarded the Dog with 100 bonus points to kick things off. Hayes, on the other hand, got off to a slow start, but was kept in the thick of things thanks in large part to the frequent interference of his corner men. Undaunted, JYD corralled all three Freebirds into a Triple Noggin Knocker before delivering his trademark Big Thump Powerslam onto the already woozy Hayes. Buddy Roberts prevented the pin by breaking up Referee Jimmy McGuire’s count but drew the disqualification on Hayes in the process.

6. Bruce (Butch) Reed was in a heap of trouble in our Main Event when his opponent the Mongolian Stomper (w/ Don Carson) rolled big on his Cheating modifier. The former football standout from the University of Central Missouri sustained a great deal of punishment from the Stomper’s vast arsenal of illegal tactics whenever Referee Bobby Simmons’ attention was diverted by the shady Carson OOR. The resilient Reed rebounded with a reverse head smash to an exposed turnbuckle before pinning the Stomper with a Flying Shoulder Tackle from the 2nd rope at 13:11.

1.The opening contest between Charlie Cook and Rick Ferrara was officially declared a No Contest at 5:07 after Referee Nick Patrick was KO’d in the action. Cook appeared to suffer a legitimate injury after jamming his shoulder into the turnbuckle post on a wild corner charge. Patrick bent down to check on his condition and was clobbered from behind by the oncoming Ferrara. Medical personnel rushed into the ring to attend to Patrick and helped carry the dazed official to the back. Patrick was unable to return for the balance of tonight’s card.

2.The Super Destroyer (A Masked Scott Irwin) teamed up with Big John Studd to defeat Denny Brown & Tom Prichard at 8:40. Giving away a great deal in both size and experience, youngsters Prichard and Brown did a good job of utilizing their speed and finesse to remain competitive. Denny was going up top to attempt a high risk maneuver when he was cut off at the pass and given a Superplex by the Super Destroyer for the winning pinfall.

3. The Great Kabuki (w/ “Playboy” Gary Hart) over Steve Keirn via Count Out at 7:47. Kabuki no doubt had something devious in mind when he bowed respectfully to his opponent to start the match and expected Keirn to do likewise. Steve had other ideas however, and nearly pinned the man from Singapore with a quick Small Package in the opening seconds. Kabuki barely managed to lift a shoulder to spoil the pin before unloading with a barrage of martial arts kicks and chops. Manager Gary Hart earned his keep when the action moved to the floor. The Playboy distracted Referee Charlie Smith while Kabuki leveled his adversary with a Kendo Stick smash to the back. Keirn could not recover in time to make the official’s subsequent ten count.

4. “Outlaw” Ron Bass got a big boost from his Cheating modifier (and Don Carson) to defeat Brad Armstrong at 13:06. Carson, who is the manager of the Mongolian Stomper, has been looking to add the big Cowboy to his stable in recent weeks. Although he had no business being there, Carson came down to ringside mid-match and eventually snuck something into the Outlaw’s hand when Referee Scrappy McGowan’s back was turned. Bass promptly stuffed the object into his arm pad and caught Brad flush on the chin with a Flying Back Elbow Smash off the ropes moments later for the tainted three count.

5. Looking to rebound from a disappointing National Tag Team Tournament elimination, Robert Fuller & Ted Dibiase got themselves back on track with a win over the team of Kevin Sullivan & “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer. Sullivan once again brought a bad attitude and a highly aggressive style with him into the ring which suited his partner just fine. He took matters to the extreme, however, by bashing Dibiase in the head with the time keeper’s bell when Sawyer became trapped in Ted’s Figure Four Leg Lock. Referee Charlie Smith wasted no time in calling for the DQ at 10:11.

6. Ole Anderson defeated Mr. Wrestling II by way of Count Out in the Main Event at 10:55. Anderson, who is one half of the Georgia Tag Team Champion Minnesota Wrecking Crew, had brother Gene in his corner for this bout. As it turned out, he would play a significant role in the outcome. Gene was a disruptive force throughout the contest and drew Mr. Wrestling II into a confrontation OOR. Despite sustaining a Million Dollar Knee Lift on the floor, Gene succeeded in keeping the popular masked man out of the ring long enough to miss Referee Scrappy McGowan’s ten count.

Georgia Championship Wrestling Results (Circa Early 80's) - Bell Auditorium, Augusta, GA. Att: 5,255.

Referees: Bill McMinn, George Scott Jr. & Ronnie West

1.The French Angel drew some big time heat by flipping off the fans as he entered the ring to take on Brian Blair in our opening contest. The veteran heel made a costly mistake by turning his back on Blair to jaw with some spectators at ringside and was Drop Kicked chest-first into the corner turnbuckle. The Angel staggered backward from the collision and right into a School Boy Rollup to give Blair the victory at 8:50.

2. Although he was without his trademark (Loaded ?) Forearm Brace, Mike Sharpe brought his rough and rugged brawling style into the squared circle with him to take on Roberto Soto. This match was pretty much a toss up until Soto tucked his head too soon and telegraphed a Back Body Drop attempt. Sharpe put on the brakes as he bounded off the ropes and caught his foe with a Swinging Neckbreaker to score the winning pinfall at 9:05.

3. Mike Davis did not take kindly to a spectator’s sign welcoming his opponent Kevin Von Erich to Georgia Championship Wrestling. Davis ripped up the fan’s poster and earned himself some bonus heel points in the process, but they were of little help to him once the action finally got under way. Clearly the better man in this match up, Von Erich was well on his way to a victory when “Rowdy” Roddy Piper ambled down to ringside to get a look see at the GCW newcomer. Piper, who is scheduled to take on “Bullet” Bob Armstrong in tonight’s Main Event, tried to toss a cup of beer into Von Erich’s face but ended up getting Davis with it instead when Kevin ducked at the last instant. Rowdy Roddy’s miscue caused the blinded Davis to stagger right into a Von Erich Small Package for the 1-2-3 at 5:12.

4. Atlanta’s own Big Red Reese got the duke over Jim Duggan at 11:47 despite the distracting presence of the shady Don Carson OOR. Carson, who is the manager of the Mongolian Stomper, has been actively recruiting other grapplers to join his stable. Whether or not he was attempting to woo Jim Duggan is unclear, but Carson was successful in drawing the attention of Referee Bill McMinn. Duggan tried to capitalize on the moment by removing the padding from a corner turnbuckle, but ended up having his own forehead driven into the exposed steel by his alert opponent. The 410lb Reese then added a Running Splash onto the dazed Duggan to score the pinfall.

5. Fabulous Freebirds Buddy Roberts & Terry Gordy got some help from corner man Michael Hayes in their Count Out victory over Ted & Jerry Oates. Eager to get in on the action, the rambunctious Hayes interjected himself during a wild free-for-all on the floor by clobbering Ted Oates from behind with a chair shot. Referee George Scott Jr.’s ten count ran out on the KO’d Oates at 14:43.

6. “Bullet” Bob Armstrong defeated “Rowdy” Roddy Piper by DQ in the Main Event at 24:15. The devious Piper used some questionable tactics (eye pokes, choke holds, hair pulling and a low knee to the groin) to maintain the advantage and nearly won the match with a Sleeper until Armstrong backpedaled his antagonist hard into the corner to break the hold. It was then Bullet Bob’s turn to apply the same hold with Piper having a much more difficult time coming up with a counter. Trapped in the middle of the ring and fading fast, Rowdy Roddy slugged Referee Ronnie West to save himself from the Sleeper. The woozy official wasted no time in calling for the bell and awarded the match to Armstrong.
