A few notes:

This is my ninth set of cards and a good number of them came out in the month of June. I'm making pretty darn good time.
The 1921 set was made for Babe Ruth; this set was made for two players -- Boston's Ted Williams and New York's Joe DiMaggio. This was the season 'The Splendid Splinter' (pardon me for resisting the ESPN-created 'Teddy Ballgame') his .406, becoming the last to hit over .400, and was also the season Joltin' Joe hit in 56 consecutive games.
Williams' card is a marvel. Any random number of 11-75 on his card puts him on base or sends one into the seats. DiMaggio's isn't bad either. Any random number of 11-55 does the same, with 24-43 going for extra bases. Washington's Cecil Travis is almost as good -- he's on base with a random number of 11-54 on his card.
Again, I did all the cards by hand, without aid of a special program. The catcher and outfield arms ratings were determined by number of assists.

Some other information:
The 1941 card file contains those players with 50 or more at bats or 30 or more innings pitched, as usual.
Ten batters received BD ratings of 1 or 2, with five rating a 2 -- Williams, DiMaggio, Dolph Camilli (BRO), and DiMaggio's Yankee teammates Charlie Keller and Tommy Henrich. The five BD-1s are Bill Nicholson (CHI), Rudy York (DET), Mel Ott and Babe Young (NYG), and Sam Chapman (PHA).
Four pitchers received PB rating downgrades from 2-8 to 2-7 for losing 10 or more games -- Whit Wyatt (BRO), Johnny Vander Meer and Bucky Walters (CIN), and Thornton Lee (CWS). Two others received upgrades from 2-5 to 2-6 for winning 12 or more, both from the St. Louis Browns -- Elden Auker and Bob Harris.

As usual, the combined cards for players who played with two or more teams have either symbols or a letter at the bottom right of their cards. They are:

BLANK: A regular card. Stats used for that player are solely for time spent with that team in 1941.
*: A combined Major League card. Stats used were combined from every team that player spent time with in 1941.
A: A combined American League card. Stats used were combined from every AL team that player spent time with in 1941.
N: A combined American League card. Stats used were combined from every NL team that player spent time with in 1941.

In all likelihood, the next few seasons will all be from the 1940s, and all in succession -- 1944 through 1947. I've been asked if I could do 1970s-era cards, but I promised myself I wouldn't do any season already available through tabletopbaseball.org, though when I ordered my 63-season CD, the owner told me I could do any season I wanted.

Still, I'd rather not break my word to myself -- not just now, at least. You might see a 1975 or 1976 set (in celebration of the team of my childhood, the 'Big Red Machine' Cincinnati Reds) after I get some of the seasons finished I've already planned, but it won't be for a while.

Until the next set, enjoy the 1941 season cards.
