A few notes:

This is my 13th set of cards -- a baker's dozen (can't believe it). This time, however, the delay to get them out was even greater, made necessary by my work and my volunteer position as a statisician for a local high school football team.
I will try my best, though, to put out a 2008 set (when I can get final stats) if I don't get to the other two seasons -- 1953 and 1958 -- I want to do.
As usual, I did all the cards by hand, without aid of a special program. The catcher and outfield arms ratings were determined by number of assists.

Some other information:
The 1947 card file contains those players with 50 or more at bats or 30 or more innings pitched.
This year, five batters received a BD rating of 2 -- Johnny Mize (NYG), Ralph Kiner (PIT), Willard Marshall (NYG), Walker Cooper (NYG) and Ted Williams (BOS). Six received 1s -- Joe Gordon (CLE), Bobby Thomson (NYG), Jeff Heath (SLB), Whitey Kurowski (STL), Bill Nicholson (CHI) and Hank Greenberg (PIT).
Eight pitchers also had their PB rating downgraded, all from 2-8 to 2-7 -- Hal Newhouser (DET), Eddie Lopat (CWS), Ralph Branca (BRO), Dutch Leonard (PHI), Earl Johnson (BOS), Vic Lombardi (BRO), Bob Feller (CLE) and Dick Fowler (PHI). No pitchers received upgrades.
Also, you might think I forgot to put the Chicago White Sox on this set. Well, you're right. They're not where you'd usually find them, between Cleveland and Detroit, but they are on the file -- they're just at the back because I skipped them by accident when I typed in the names.

The combined cards for players who played with two or more teams have either symbols or a letter at the bottom right of their cards. They are:

BLANK: A regular card. Stats used for that player are solely for time spent with that team in 1947.
*: A combined Major League card. Stats used were combined from every team that player spent time with in 1947.
A: A combined American League card. Stats used were combined from every AL team that player spent time with in 1947.
N: A combined American League card. Stats used were combined from every NL team that player spent time with in 1947.

Should I have another set by the end of the year, it will in all likelihood be the 2008 season. I may wait to put those out until next year and go instead with the 1953 and/or 1958 seasons, should I find the time. It may be quite a while, though, for another one of my created sets to come out, so I wouldn't count on hearing from me for a while.

Sorry about that, but until then, enjoy the 1947 season cards.
