A few notes:

I can't possibly believe I got these cards out before the first of May.
This is my 17th set of cards and, to be perfectly honest, I had the ratings and everything else finished before I typed up the 2008 set. I even typed up the names on the card templates before I input all the numbers so I'd have everything ready to go. This is why there was such a relatively short layoff between the release of the 2008 and 2009 sets, but I believed more in my inherent laziness than anything else, and I never thought I'd get the cards out in June, let alone May. But, by goodness, I did it. And you now have a set of 2009 cards. Good for you!

As always, I did all the cards by hand, without aid of a special program. The catcher and outfield arms ratings were determined by number of assists.

Some other information:
The 2009 card file contains those players with 50 or more at bats or 25 or more innings pitched.
In this set, 30 players received BD ratings of 2, indicating they hit 30 or more home runs in the 2009 season. They are: Albert Pujols (STL), Prince Fielder (MIL), Ryan Howard (PHI), Mark Reynolds (ARI), Adrian Gonzalez (SDP), Carlos Pena (TBR), Mark Teixeira (NYY), Adam Dunn (WAS), Aaron Hill (TOR), Jayson Werth (PHI), Jason Bay (BOS), Derrek Lee (CHI), Adam Lind (TOR), Raul Ibanez (PHI), Miguel Cabrera (DET), Kendry Morales (LAA), Ryan Zimmerman (WAS), Evan Longoria (TBR), Nelson Cruz (TEX), Ryan Braun (MIL), Michael Cuddyer (MIN), Troy Tulowitzki (COL), Chase Utley (PHI), Russell Branyan (SEA), Ian Kinsler (TEX), Andre Ethier (LAD), Dan Uggla (FLA), Justin Morneau (MIN), Curtis Granderson (DET) and Alex Rodriguez (NYY). No combined cards received a 2 BD rating this season.
In addition, three pitchers received PB rating downgrades from 2-8 to 2-7 for losing 10 or more games. They are: Javier Vazquez (ATL), Roy Halladay (TOR) and Jair Jurrjens (ATL). No combined pitcher cards were up or downgraded.

The combined cards for players who played with two or more teams have either symbols or a letter at the bottom right of their cards. They are:

BLANK: A regular card. Stats used for that player are solely for time spent with that team in 2009.
*: A combined Major League card. Stats used were combined from every team that player spent time with in 2009.
A: A combined American League card. Stats used were combined from every AL team that player spent time with in 2009.
N: A combined American League card. Stats used were combined from every NL team that player spent time with in 2009.

Well, that's it for now. I can't quite tell yet whether I'll put out a new set once the 2010 season is over, but if I start fiddling around with stats and figuring out ratings around November or December, I'll make sure to let you know this time.

Until then, enjoy the 2009 set.
