Since we've been posting the "guts" of the old Jim Barnes games lately, I thought I'd throw this old one of his out there as well. It might help you in your quick play of the womens tourney, to get some stats for the individual players.
From the old Statis-Pro Report, here is the Fast Action Basketball Game. You'll need to know the teams ppg avg. both for and against, as well as the ppg avg. for the individual players. Use the number of players whose ppg comes to the total of the teams ppg avg.

Roll (2) dice (6) for each player and consult the Standard Table adjusting the players scoring average as the table indicates. If the player averaged 18ppg and the dice results was minus 2, then the player scored 16 points in the game. when all players have been rolled for on each team, add up the points and you'll get the final score.

Table A: If the reult on the Standard Table reads "use table A", consult that table and roll the dice again, following the result on the Table A chart. Here is where you'll get players high game performances.

Table B: same as Table A, except here is where poor games come into play, and if the Table reads 'no points' the player goes scoreless in the game.

Table C: Here is where you'll take into account the opponents defense and/or the Home/Road situation. If Defense is the result on Table C, adjust the players ppg average by the opponents Defense Rating. If Home/Road is the result, use the Home/Road adjustment that each team will have.

Overtime: Rules read " should a game end in overtime, simply throw a single Die for the first four players on each team and add the Die total to the players scoring, thus far, and then re-add to get the new final score."( I'd like to see some gives this rule a tweak, as I'm not to happy with this rule.)

RATING METHOD:

High Score: If the data is available, use it. If not, usually a player will have a high game about double what his ppg avg. is.

Defense: if using pro teams, take the ppg allowed for the team and subtract it from the league average. For example, if the league average is 108 ppg and the team allowed 112 ppg, the team rating would be PLUS 4. For Colleges, if you've got the league or season average ppg allowed, use similar to the Pros, if not use the diference in offense and defense averages for the team, if they scored 69 ppg and allowed 73, then the team rating would be PLUS 4.

Home/Road: For the Pros, find the average number of wins at home and see how the team stacks up. If the average NBA team won 28 games at home and the team won 21, then it rating would be MINUS 7.Same process for finding the Road rating. For Collges, use the actual Home/Road record to determine the rating. For example, team was 6-8 at home for the season, there rating would be MINUS 2.

I've used the game to play out 3 or 4 full NBA/ABA seasons and the results have been fairly accurate. Both team won/loss and individual players ppg averages. Anyway, it'll give anyone the option now of quick playing a season and getting some stats.
