  1970's College All-Time Greats Released
Downey Games is proud to announce the release of College Football's best teams of the 1970's for GridIron Wars Football.

Find out which college football team of the 70's was the greatest with this set for GridIron Wars!

As many are going to ask, let me state right from the start, the team ratings are designed with strength of schedule and normalization built in. This keeps every team on an even playing field, which I think is important for All-Time Great sets. Most importantly though, each team will still keep their "personalities" which I also feel is important. The bottom line is that all of the teams are on an equal playing field, but they will still perform as you remember them.

The College All-Time Greats set also adds new solitaire play calling charts to accurately reflect the different styles of play in the college game, as well as a new Kick-Off chart and Penalty chart.

The college All-Time Greats printed version is printed in color on card stock and can be found here:

The E-Book version can be found here:

The 34 teams included in this set are:

1970 Nebraska
1970 Notre Dame
1970 Texas
1971 Alabama
1971 Nebraska
1971 Oklahoma
1972 Oklahoma
1972 USC
1972 Texas
1973 Alabama
1973 Notre Dame
1973 Ohio State
1973 Oklahoma
1973 Penn State
1974 Michigan
1974 Oklahoma
1974 USC
1975 Alabama
1975 Arizona State
1975 Ohio State
1975 Oklahoma
1976 Michigan
1976 Pittsburgh
1976 USC
1977 Alabama
1977 Arkansas
1977 Notre Dame
1977 Texas
1978 Alabama
1978 Oklahoma
1978 USC
1979 Alabama
1979 Oklahoma
1979 USC

  1968 Season Now Available
Downey Games is proud to announce the release of the 1968 American and National Football seasons for GridIron Wars.

The 1968 American season was the 9th for the upstart league. The team from New York shocked the world by defeating the storied Baltimore franchise of the National League in a World Championship game.

Can you guide New York to the title? Perhaps the strong squad from Oakland will prevail? Or Maybe the Kansas City team will win it all?

The 1968 National season was the 49th regular season of the League. As per the agreement made during the 1967 realignment, the New Orleans tam and the New York franchise switched divisions; New Orleans joined the Century Division while New York became part of the Capitol Division.

The season ended when Baltimore defeated Cleveland in the Championship Game, only to be upset by the American League's New York team in the World Championship game.

Can you guide Baltimore to the title? How about Cleveland? Better yet, can you avoid the embarrassment of losing to an American League team in the World Championship game?

Order today, and find out!

You can order the E-Book versions at:

The printed versions can be purcahsed here:

  New Downey Games Web Site
We have changed shopping carts.

Our returning customers will have the minor inconvenience of needing register again. However, I think the advantages to the new site will outweigh the inconvenience.

With the new shopping cart, we now provide instantaneous downloads of our E-Book Products. While the old system of using E-Mail scripts never took that long, there were some cases where PayPal didn't always return a confirmation right away. And if I wasn't physically at the computer, there could be a delay. That is not a problem anymore, as the new system in truly instant.

For our Board game customers, we now offer exact shipping from the US Postal Service, rather than using a flat rate. This will save you money. This will also give our many International customers an exact shipping quote, which will also save them money. The Postal Service integration also greatly speeds up shipping time. Once an order is completed, it prints a packing slip and full postage immediately. I won't get into how I did things before, but trust me, this will GREATLY speed shipping times. Most everything should be shipped the same day now, rather than the next morning.

Also, the new site allows us to easily produce and maintain a newsletter, which I think will be of interest to all. We intend to produce a regular newsletter covering our line of games, as well as the rest of the sports gaming hobby. Even if you do not make a purchase today, I urge you to sign up for the newsletter by registering on the site.

And finally and most importantly, we feel that the new web site is much easier to navigate.

To kick-off the launch of the new site, I'm have a 20% off sale for my E-Book games. The sale runs through Sunday.

As I mentioned above, even if you don't want to make a purchase today, I encourage you to sign up for the newsletter.

Thanks for your time!
