New Second Season Chart Book Delayed Slightly
Pete Ventura sent along the following:

Dear Second Season Pro Football Players,

Here at Replay Sports Games we've been working hard to get the new-format Second Season Game Book ready for its debut. We expected to begin shipping new game books by today, but last-minute problems at the printing and tabbing company doing this job for us have slowed the process for up to two more weeks. We sincerely apologize for the delay, especially to all of you have pre-ordered, and we're eager to get these out to you as soon as we have the completed materials here in-house. The new expected shipping date is October 15th, which should be conservative (we hope to beat that date!) In the meantime, we hope you can have fun rolling a few games of Replay Baseball, Replay Basketball, or the original PLAAY version of Second Season Pro Football!

Thanks for your patience!

Pete Ventura

  New UQ Tennis Seasons
I am releasing the final six sets to complete the past 20 years on the ATP Tour. After a short break from tennis, I will work on 1980, and a few 70's and 60's seasons.

Here are the six seasons released today:

1996- Pete Sampras once again took the points title in 1996, withstanding mild challenges from Michael Chang, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, and Goran Ivanisevic. 1996 saw four different Grand Slam winners with the forementioned Sampras taking the US Open, Boris Becker grabbed the Australian Open Title, Kafelnikov captured the French Open title, and Richard Krajicek was a surprising Wimbledon winner.

Other top players from 1996 were:

MUSTER, Thomas
AGASSI, Andre
ENQVIST, Thomas
FERREIRA, Wayne
RIOS, Marcelo
MARTIN, Todd

1997- Pete Sampras was simply dominant in 1997. He played in only 16 events during the season, but managed to easily out-distance Patrick Rafter for the points title. Sampras took 2 of the 4 Grand Slam events capturing the Australian Open and Winbledon. Patrick Rafter won a hard-fought US Open title, and Gustavo Kuerten won on the clay at Roland Garros to capture the French Open crown.

Other top players from 1997 were:

CHANG, Michael
BJORKMAN, Jonas
KAFELNIKOV, Yevgeny

KORDA, Petr
IVANISEVIC, Goran
KUERTEN, Gustavo
MANTILLA, Felix
HENMAN, Tim

1998- Pete Sampras again won the points race in 1998. However, the battle to the top was not nearly as easy as the previous year. Marcelo Rios, Alex Corretja, Patrick Rafter and Carlos Moya all proved to be serious contendors.

Sampras and Rafter were both repeat Grand Slam winners capturing their second consecutive titles at Wimbledon and the US Open respectively. Petr Korda was a bit of a surprise winner in the Australian Open, while Carlos Moya, and his outstanding clay-court game took the French Open crown.

Other top players from 1998 were:

AGASSI, Andre
HENMAN, Tim
KUCERA, Karol
RUSEDSKI, Greg
KRAJICEK, Richard

COSTA, Albert

MARTIN, Todd
JOHANSSON, Thomas
PIOLINE, Cedric

1999- Andre Agassi climbed to the top of the Entry Points list in 1999, knocking Pete Sampras from his perch. Agassi captured the French Open and US Open titles, while Sampras took Wimbledon for the thrid consecutive year. Yevgeny Kafelnikov captured the Australian Open title.

Other top players from 1999 were:

2000- The year 2000 brought new names to the top of the ATP Entry Points Champoinship. Gustavo Kuerten squeaked past Marat Safin in the points battle. Long-time points champion, Pete Sampras only competed in 12 tournaments in 2000, but did manage to capture his fourth straight Wimbledon Championship. Andre Agassi took the Australian Open title, Kuerten won at the French Open, and Safin won the US Open title.

Replay Auction to Benefit Hurricane Victims
Dear Replay Sports Game fans,

I'd like to invite you to a special online auction of Replay Sports Games and related items to benefit those affected by the recent disaster in the Gulf Coast region...
REPLAY ONLINE AUCTION TO BENEFIT VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA

The auction will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 7:00 EST at the Replay Sports Games Forum chat room. Long time Replay gamer and league commissioner Al Arthurs will be serving as auctioneer.

To enter the auction and the chat:

Visit the Replay Sports Game Forum and click on the "Chat" button under the Replay Sports Game Forum title (allow up to a few moments for the chat room window to appear on screen).

REPLAY ONLINE AUCTION GUIDELINES

Each seller will post an item (or items), and the winning bidder will pay the bid amount to the seller plus shipping costs. The sellers will then forward this amount to their chosen non-profit agencies helping Katrina victims.

If you post an item for sale and don't mind having the bidder(s) send the money directly to a non-profit group, you have the option of letting your winning bidder(s) send their payment directly to a Katrina disaster aid group. Same goes for shipping costs: if as a seller, you want to pick up the tab for shipping, just let your winning bidder(s) know this whenever you arrange payment. But these choices are at the discretion of the seller.

The concept for this auction will be simple. We have a list of donated items in the "Replay 9/14/05 Auction Items List" thread in the Replay News folder near the upper left hand side of the Replay Sports Games Forum to give you an idea of the items that will be auctioned. If anyone wishes to donate an item or items, please email Al Arthurs at orbl@sympatico.ca These items will be auctioned off by Al during the online real-time chat on Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 7:00 (EST).

We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you,

Pete Ventura
