Hi Everyone !

I'll post my results for the 1967 AFL season here in this topic. I'll also have a separate topic for my 1967 NFL season results with the two leagues ultimately converging for Super Bowl II. Once again, many thanks to Tim Brulia, Bill Schaefer and Rob Holecko at www.gridiron-uniforms.com for allowing me to use their uniform graphics. I hope you enjoy the replay !

George

When the AFL started I was still in the service so the reports about the league were a bit shoddy. American newspapers were not that available and those that we got from NY or Chicago didn't report on the AFL with any enthusiasm. Tapes of the games came so we saw the Bronco's Striped leggings. Oakland changed their name to the Raiders after starting out with the Senors. Thank God for small favors. The Jets were originally named the Titans. Boston couldn't find a home field so they eventually moved to Foxboro and became New England although in 1967 they played at Boston College. The Chiefs were originally the Dallas Texans before moving to Kansas City and the Chargers started out in Los Angeles. The AFL had a lot of growing but they made it.

By 1967 the AFL was solid and ready to prove their worth. I love reading these write-ups. I am curious how you have developed a statistical system for a UQ game.

Thank you, Frank! I created an Excel spreadsheet to build individual player passing, rushing and receiving charts that are based upon their actual yards per game statistics for any given season. I believe it to be compatible with any era of football. The spreadsheet was posted in the Downloads section, but I think that it is still presently down. I'll email it to you in a zip folder ! I hope it adds to your enjoyment of UQ Football !
