I just finished off the NHL 1991-92 season....here are a few highlights...

CUP WINNER:
Montreal defeats Vancouver 4 games to 3 to capture the cup.

Vancouver and Montreal finished tied for the best records in the replay....

Vancouver 50-18-12
Montreal 49-17-14

The Canadiens minus five defence was the difference in this replay.

San Jose finished with a record of 5-67-8

Surprised Winnipeg and Quebec....especially the Nordiques.....

They had lucky dice on many occasions...

Playoffs:

Chicago defeated Boston
New Jersey defeated (upset) Washington
Winnipeg defeated Los Angeles
Pittsburgh defeated St. Louis

Vancouver defeated New Jersey
Montreal defeated Pittsburgh

Played a revised playoff format with twelve teams qualifying...top four with a first round bye (division winners)

Old format would have had teams one through four in each division....

Quebec, Minnesota and Calgary missed out....

Fun game...took a few weeks to play out the whole season....nice and easy...

Good results

Rick
