Just curious if anyone is playing any games with the sets I have uploaded.
If you have, I would like to see your comments on the forums here.
It would be interesting to get feedback and even hear about the games you have played.

I've been playing the heck out of them! I'm so pleased that you've kept these pioneering games alive and modernized them as well.

Post-1960s gamers would be well served to check Negamco basketball and hockey out. Time for you to discover your roots.

Thanks for posted the rules for Negamco Basketball. I've had the 1961 ABL
season sitting around for awhile but no rules to finish the season I started a long time ago. Any chance you can upload the baseball rules and charts. I think I've still got some teams that I'd like to get going with again.

As far as uploading the baseball game charts is concerned, I really wouldn't feel right about that and the Big League folks might get upset.
The stuff I have uploaded ,as far a game components are concerned, was already on here, I just changed the format and made them look nicer.
In other words, the hockey charts and all were Bill's creation, I just put them into a chart like format.
If you want to play the baseball game, and I would recommend it, you can get it on ebay.
I think you even have an option to make an offer below his listed price.
The cards on this site do not utilize the same formula that Negamco used, so that along with knowing that his baseball game sales have increased since I started uploading all the sets, allows me to feel ok with these uploads.
Glad to hear some of you are enjoying these card sets.
Let's hear about your memorable games.
By the way, the old hockey sets are interesting to me because of some of the players, like 1954-55 Terry Sawchuk.
You should look up his stats for that year.

As far as making your own baseball cards, I have the spreadsheet I use that calculates a lot of the ratings, but not all.
Some you have to do manually.
It is a fairly complicated process, but if you want to try, I can send it to you with instructions.

Just a note and I may have already covered this, you have to change the number of games played to reflect the number the teams you are creating played on the card creators.
For example, on the sheet where you input stats for the hockey cards, I believe columns Q thru T or something like that, the formula in each shows 84.
That number has to be changed.

If your sets include the 1919 AL set, the 1931 AL set and the American Association sets, I can tell you I purchased the Negamco Baseball game not for the set I purchased that came with the set, but so I can get the charts and learn how to play the game with your specific cards. I want to do a Detroit Tigers replay with the two sets listed above and play out some AA games as well. One night I did start the 1919 season and played about eight games over a weekend. I have pushed it aside, but I had a lot of fun with the cards.

I don't like the charts. I need the cards and I think the advanced cards are downright awesome. I love the adjustments made to enhance the game.

I also have printed the hockey stuff, but have yet to play it.

Thanks DTropps for your comments and glad you are enjoying the card sets.
Let us know if you do a replay on those and how they turned out. Would like to see how close your stats are to the real ones.
I agree with you on the cards over the rosters.
I like the cards better myself, but had a few requests for the rosters, so I decided to include both on all the sets going forward.
BTW, if you are a Tigers fan, you should download the 1968 card set.
I am a Cardinal fan and that World Series broke my heart. Smile
It was a good series though with a lot of stars and HOF.

I wasn't saying I didn't like your charts specifically, I was just saying in general I rather would play with the cards. That's why I bought the game - because I saw your cards. And honestly, for a long time I wondered how the heck those ratings worked with a game to play a game of baseball. Smile

Unfortunately, I have a 1968 set with a couple of other baseball games out there, so I probably won't try Negamco with the 1968 cards. I selected sets that I don't have a game for, that way I can enhance my season collection without "overkilling" the same seasons.

I don't see any reason why the cards wouldn't work. I think they will work just fine.

I did make one minor adjustment. I made a couple of weaker batter grades and stronger batter grades so that a .045 pitcher will be close to a .045 pitcher. It doesn't come into play much, but it adds some diversity to the strongest/weakest hitters.

I really like your advanced adjustments. I don't think I would've given the game much of a chance without them.

Gaz,
I think your best bet would be to go to the Negamco Basketball downloads section and download Bill Hild's file and the Negamco Basketball instructions.
That should take care of any questions you have.
If you still have questions, post on here and I will try to help.
If I can't, maybe someone else will.
