It's a miracle, the Fighting Saints defeat the Houston Aeros in six games. I guess Bill Friday was covering the Eastern Division series.

(In the final Saints v. Houston game at the Civic Center, Bill Friday allowed a questionable goal. The Saints goalie, Mike Curran had covered the puck with his glove and one of the Aeros players jabbed at the puck under the glove 3 or 4 times and worked it loose for the game winning, with only a few minutes left. Friday never called the puck dead and then signaled the goal. Curran got up and attacked Bill Friday and was ejected from the game.)

Chicago defeats the New England Whalers 4-1.

Amazing series for the Fighting Saints! They have to be strong favorites to take the Avco Cup.

It was a hard fought series, but the Chicago Cougars are the 1973-74 WHA Champions.

Well that was a drastic turn of events. Minnesota must have been overconfident after those first two games.

Thanks for posting your results!

I am thinking some dice should have hit the floor for a do-over.
