I finished the month of January, division leaders are beginning to pull away from the pack. The hated (at least for me) Aeros are leading the league wins with 34. There is a shake up in the East as New England Whalers are in fourth place, 8 points behind the Toros and Nordiques, and the Chicago Cougars are having a better then expected season so far. In the West, everybody is where they are expected with the Aeors and Fighting Saints leading the division.

WHA East Win Loss Tie Points
Toronto Toros 26 23 4 56
Quebec Nordiques 27 21 2 56
Chicago Cougars 23 18 3 49
Cleveland Crusaders 23 24 2 48
New England Whalers 23 25 2 48
New York Raiders 13 35 2 28

WHA West Win Loss Tie Points
Houston Aeros 34 11 3 71
Minnesota Fighting Saints 31 17 1 63
Edmonton Oilers 28 18 2 58
Winnipeg Jets 21 28 1 43
Vancouver Blazers 18 32 1 37
Los Angeles Sharks 14 34 3 31

Maybe I said this more that once, but I didn't miss a home game during this season. 2nd level tickets, center ice were a whole $4.00. The clear boards were really cool! February 5th's game was my birthday...and I was there. My favorite Saint was Ted Hampson and I preferred to see Mike Curran in goal.

Well, I fried another motherboard by lighting strike. It was a good thing I posted the monthly standings. Still can't recover most of My Documents even with a transfer cable.

The West division has a couple of overachievers.
