Thank you, Frank ! My newspaper didn't print the results of the matches but they always advertised when a card was coming to town. The ad would look like a marquee poster and always be printed in the sports section with the promise "Great seats are still available !!" : )

WCW (Circa Early 90's) 9/06/12 - The Omni, Atlanta, GA. Att: 8,707.

Announcers: Jim Ross & Missy Hyatt
Ring Announcer: Rick Stewart
Referees: Bill Alphonso & Scott Dickinson

1. "Heavy Metal" Van Hammer (w/ Guitar) surprised Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker of the State Patrol with a Small Package at 1:23.

2. "Dangerous" Dan Spivey pinned the Italian Stallion with a Powerbomb at 7:25.

3. TV Tournament Match. "Stunning" Steve Austin (w/ help from his Southern Belle Miss Blossom) eliminated lumberjack Big Josh (w/ Axe Handle) at 6:19. With Josh dominating the match, Miss Blossom climbed up to the apron in a rather short skirt and bent over giving the lumberjack an eyeful. Austin took advantage of the moment and rolled Josh up from behind for the pinfall to advance in the tournament. Missy Hyatt called Blossom "a floozy" and insisted that she was the more attractive of the two.

4. "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes over "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko (w/ Paul E. Dangerously) at 10:02. As usual, Zbyszko did more stalling and complaining than actual wrestling in this match. Larry got into it with Referee Scott Dickinson and was caught from behind with a School Boy Roll Up by "The Natural" for the pin. Paul E. Dangerously then ran into the ring and made a collect call by bashing Dustin in the head with his phone. This brought out proud papa Dusty Rhodes from the back who cleaned house with Bionic Elbows to both Dangerously and Zbyszko.

5. Tag Team Tournament Match. The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs & Jerry Saggs) eliminated The Young Pistols (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) at 10:56. Armstrong took a trip to Nastyville as he was pinned with the Knobbs Running Powerslam/Saggs Diving Elbow Drop Combo.

6. U.S. Title Tournament Match. The Great Muta (w/ "Playboy" Gary Hart) advanced in the tournament by defeating Flyin' Brian Pillman at 12:17. Muta sprayed Pillman in the eyes with the mysterious green mist and then cradled his blinded opponent for the winning pinfall.

7. WCW Title Tournament Match. "Lone Wolf" Barry Windham eliminated "Nature Boy" Ric Flair by DQ at 30:11. Windham pulled out all the stops and shocked the Nature Boy by slapping on the Blackjack Claw Hold. Flair desperately flailed away as he tried to escape the hold and socked Referee Scott Dickinson in the jaw in the process. Whether the punch was intentional or not, Dickinson called for the bell and DQ'd Flair.

2. Jake "The Snake" Roberts (w/ Nicola Roberts) over Spike Huber at 5:42. Nicola smashed Spike over the head with his own hard hat while Jake kept Referee Ralph Pulley distracted. The woozy Spike stumbled right into the Snake's DDT for the pinfall.

3. TV Tournament Match. "Killer" Tim Brooks (w/ ominous chain) eliminated "Master G" George Wells (w/ football background) at 6:14. With Referee Rick Hazzard down on the canvas, Brooks clotheslined Wells with his chain and then finished him off with a Leg Drop off the 2nd rope. Hazzard recovered in time to count the pin.

4. "Crippler" Rip Oliver (w/ Jim Cornette) over Brian Adidas via Count Out at 10:37. Adidas was chasing the pesty Cornette around ringside when he was blindsided by a flying knee smash from behind by Oliver. Adidas crashed head-first into the steel barricade railing and could not make the subsequent ten count.

5. Tag Team Tournament Match. Nicola Robert's Dynamic Duo of "Gentleman" Chris Adams & "The Handsome Half Breed from Highland Park" Gorgeous Gino Hernandez ousted the Simpsons (Steve & Shaun) at 9:36. Steve Simpson was distracted by Nicola's constant heckling from outside the ring and walked right into Adams' Superkick for the pinfall.

6. Kevin Von Erich defeated Crusher Yurkoff (w/ "Playboy" Gary Hart) at 11:21. With Referee Rick Hazzard knocked down in the action, Yurkoff held Von Erich from behind for a Gary Hart cheap shot. Hart removed a shoe and tried to clobber Von Erich in the head with it but Kevin ducked at the last second and Hart inadvertently hit Yurkoff instead. Von Erich made the cover as Hazzard crawled over to count the pin.

7. Texas Title Tournament Match. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin (w/ Precious) defeated Iceman King Parsons via Count Out at 14:18. Announcers: Jim Ross & "Cowboy" Bill Watts
Ring Announcer: Boyd Pierce
Referees: Tommy Gilbert & Alfred Neely

1. "Bruiser" Bob Sweetan took care of Mike "Hammer" Reed with his Piledriver at 3:04. After the bout, Sweetan got into a shoving match with "Timekeeper" Mike George who had joined the announcer's table to provide guest commentary for the bout. During the broadcast, George had boasted to Jim Ross and "Cowboy" Bill Watts that he could defeat Sweetan in "eight minutes or less".

2. "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala (w/ General Skandor Akbar & handler Friday) crushed Art Crews with his Giant Splash at 8:23. Kamala refused to get off Crews until Friday entered the ring and struck him repeatedly with his tamer stick. The Ugandan Giant howled and slapped his belly as he was led backstage.

3. "Timekeeper" Mike George defeated Brickhouse Brown via Count Out at 6:08. During OOR action, George smashed Brown in the head with a clock that he had brought to ringside. The dazed Brown could not make Referee Tommy Gilbert's ten count. Prior to the match, George had predicted that he would defeat Brickhouse in 5 minutes. As George was arguing with Boyd Pierce over the time of the match, he was spun around and decked by "Bruiser" Bob Sweetan who had returned to ringside.

4. The Kiwi Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Cousin Luke Williams w/ Sir Jonathan Boyd and New Zealand Flag) over the Jersey Boys (Angelo Mosca Jr. & "Jumping" Joe Savoldi) at 11:45. 5. TV Title Match. The Champ, "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel (w/ "The First Lady of Professional Wrestling" Missy Hyatt and "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert) turned back the challenge of Savannah Jack at 10:28. Eddie Gilbert reached into the ring and tripped Savannah as he was coming off the ropes. Landel then finished off the challenger with a crushing Corkscrew Elbow Drop for the pin. Buddy Landel retains the TV Title.

6. Austin Idol defeated "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater (w/ Dark Journey) at 12:22. Dark Journey tried to throw a cup of beer into Austin Idol's face but inadvertently got her own man Dick Slater instead. Idol quickly cradled the surprised and doused Slater for the pinfall.

7. 6 Man Tag Match. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael P.S. Hayes, Buddy Jack Roberts & Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy over "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong and "White Lightning" Tim Hoerner at 10:15. Referee Alfred Neely lost all control of this match and struggled to maintain any semblance of order. With all 6 men battling in the ring, Gordy gave Brad Armstrong the Bam Bam Slam (Powerslam off the 2nd Rope) as Neely was sending Tim Hoerner back to his corner. Neely turned around and counted the pin for Gordy even though he was not the legal man in the ring for the Freebirds.

"Down and Dirty with Dutch" Segment

Dutch Mantel interviews Pat Rose. Rose says that the feud with the Rich Cousins isn't over by a long shot. The Rose Cousins have brought "Filthy" Phil Hickerson to Smokey Mountain to take care of Tommy "Wildfire" Rich in the Main Event tonight. Rose says that like "The Black Rose" Loverboy Dennis Condrey, Hickerson's lineage can be traced directly to the Rose family. Rose begins rattling off the generations of Roses and Hickersons dating all the way back to the 1800s.

1. Frankie "The Thumper" Lancaster over Hector Guerrero via Count Out at 5:11. Hector got into an altercation with Pat Rose who was still being interviewed by Dutch Mantel at ringside. The two traded punches on the floor as Referee Mark Curtis put the ten count on Guerrero.

2. "Jumping" Joey Maggs defeated Pat Rose (w/ cousin "Ravishing" Randy Rose) at 6:47. With Referee Ron Sexton down on the mat, Randy Rose attempted to bash Maggs with a chair but was pushed from behind by Hector Guerrero who had returned to ringside. Randy was knocked off balance and ended up KOing his cousin Pat with the chair instead. Maggs scored the pinfall as Sexton recovered to make the three count.

3. Former mob hit man Killer Kyle (w/ violin case) pinned Ric McCord with the Rub Out (Sidewalk Slam) at 5:54. After the bout, Kyle snatched the house mic away from Phil Raney and said that anyone who gets in his way will "sleep with the fishes".

During OOR action, Holly grabbed a bottle of pop from a fan at ringside and smashed it over Cousin Junior's head. Junior was out like a light as Referee Mark Curtis put the ten count on him.

5. "Tennessee Stud" Robert Fuller (w/ Jimmy Golden & Miss Sylvia) defeated Jerry Oates via Count Out at 10:21. Oates got into it with Miss Sylvia OOR and was ambushed from behind by Jimmy Golden while Robert Fuller kept Referee Ron Sexton distracted. Golden KO'd Oates with the timekeeper's bell to cause the count out.

6. Tag Team Tournament Match. Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart's Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) eliminated the Fantastics (Bobby & Jackie Fulton) at 10:18. Jimmy Hart climbed up to the apron and caught a haymaker from Bobby Fulton for his trouble, but the distraction was just what Danny Davis needed to roll up Fulton from behind for the winning pinfall.

7. SMW Title Tournament Match. "Filthy" Phil Hickerson (w/ "Ravishing" Randy & Pat Rose) eliminated Tommy "Wildfire" Rich by Count Out at 11:11. With Referee Ron Sexton knocked down in the action, Hickerson tossed Wildfire over the top rope and OOR where the Rose Cousins were waiting. Pat & Randy Rose gave Rich a Double Hotshot onto the steel barricade railing. Tommy clutched his throat and writhed on the floor in agony as Sexton recovered to put the ten count on him.

There was a lot of heat in this bout due to derogatory comments that Jericho had made in a prematch interview with "Mean" Gene Okerlund. Jericho did a lot of running and stalling to avoid the enraged Guerrero. At one point Jericho hid behind Referee Charles Robinson and begged the ref for help. Guerrero then finished off "Lionheart" with the Frog Splash off the top rope for the pinfall.

1. Buff Bagwell over "The Chairman of WCW" La Parka via Count Out at 3:35. During OOR action, Bagwell sent La Parka crashing into the TV crew with a wicked chairshot. The luchador became entangled in the wires and cords and could not free himself in time to make Referee Mickey Jay's ten count.

2. Ernest "The Cat" Miller (w/ red martial arts slippers and Sonny Onoo) beat Ultimo Dragon at 7:33. Onoo smashed Ultimo Dragon from behind with his briefcase while Ernest Miller kept Referee Johnny Boone occupied. Miller then pounced on the KO'd Dragon for the easy pin.

Kidman capitalized on the moment and cradled Morrus in a Small Package for the pin.

4. Hardcore Match. Big Vito (w/ Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli) over Brian Knobbs (w/ "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay) at 9:04. The ring was littered with various objects and weapons, but Vito chose his own personal blackjack to KO Knobbs for the pinfall.

5. "The Iceman" Dean Malenko got Raven to tap out to his Texas Cloverleaf at 13:03 after a hard fought, see-saw contest.

6. Harlem Heat (Booker T & Stevie Ray w/ Sister Sherri) over the n.W.o.'s Outsiders (Scott Hall & "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash) by DQ at 11:51. Hall zapped Booker T with his taser stick after Booker connected with the Harlem Side Kick on Nash's jaw. Referee Mickey Jay quickly called for the disqualification and fled the ring as Hall threatened to zap him as well.

7. Michael "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" Buffer did the honors of introducing the Main Event. "Macho Madness" Randy Savage (w/ an entourage of women including Madusa Micelli, Gorgeous George and "Miss Madness" Molly Holly) defeated "Rowdy" Roddy Piper at 13:10. The girls constantly heckled and badgered Piper throughout the contest. Piper's temper finally got the better of him and he got into a heated exchange with Gorgeous George who had climbed up to the ring apron. Savage blindsided "Rowdy" Roddy with a high flying knee smash to the back and then rolled up Piper with a handful of tights for the winning pinfall.

6. Intercontinental Title Tournament Match. Crush over "Double J" Jeff Jarrett (w/ blinking sunglasses, the Fargo Strut and the Roadie) by DQ at 10:37. Crush had "Double J" caught in the Cranium Crunch (Head Vice) when the Roadie ran in and bashed him from behind with Ring Announcer Manny Garcia's microphone. The Roadie then tossed Referee Dave Hebner out of the ring as Jarrett applied his Figure Four Leglock to Crush for several minutes until the 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly made the save. Crush advances in the tournament but was noticably limping afterwards.

7. WWF Title Tournament Match. Psycho Sid eliminated "Made in the USA" Lex Luger at 14:27.
