Downey Games is proud to announce the release of the 2008 UQ Boxing Year Book.

2008 Ultra Quick Boxing features 1,500 current boxers in all weight classes. The match-ups and possibilities are endless. Want to see a unification of the Heavyweight Title? You can with Ultra Quick Boxing!

In Ultra Quick Boxing, fighters are rated for wins and losses as well as knockout power. And as the name suggests, the results are Ultra Quick. Most bouts will require two rolls of 2 ten-sided dice (not included) to determine the winner, and the method of his win. With Ultra Quick Boxing, you can easily conduct hundreds of bouts in a single sitting! No other boxing game on the tabletop can make that claim.

Ultra Quick Boxing features the top 100 fighters for the following divisions: Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, Light Heavyweight, Super Middleweight, Middleweight, Light Middleweight, Welterweight, Light Welterweight, Lightweight, Super Featherweight, Featherweight, Super Bantamweight and Bantamweight. The top 50 fighters are rated in the Super Flyweight, Flyweight, Light Flyweight and Straw weight divisions. All told you have 1500 current boxers at your disposal, all performing exactly as you would expect.

You can purchase the E-Book version here: http://www.downeygames.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1493

The Printed Year Book can be purchased here: http://www.downeygames.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1492

I think it's great new that the UQ Boxing is ready. Do you anticipate having Main Event ready anytime in the near future? What I like to do is run tournaments with the first several rounds using UQ Boxing and the finals or maybe also the semis use Main Event.

Thanks for two really good boxing games.

I don't have a time table for Main Event, since this is usually a really busy time for me. All I can say is eventually. That may be next week, or two months from now.

17 freakin' divisions. So sick.

I recently purchased UQ Boxing, and I must say, I do enjoy the simplicity of it. I'm a little weary of the realism, due to the fact that there will be a lot more knockouts and upsets in this than Main Event Boxing, but it's a RIDICULOUSLY ENJOYABLE game. I got the All-Time Heavyweights, and the 2008 e-book, and both look ridiculously solid. I may even create an 18th division and have a "Legend's" division. Main Event is a blast to play, but I will say this. With the little free time I have right now, being able to simulate 50 matches in a single sitting is amazing.
