Not exactly a major project, just the best-of-five ALCS & NLCS, followed by the World Series, but wanted to get reacquainted with HBW after a long hiatus.

ALCS features eventual World Series winner Oakland vs. Baltimore. NLCS is Cincinnati vs. New York (World Series runner-up).

Game 1 is at Memorial Stadium, Vida Blue facing Jim Palmer.

Great replay, Dave. I've got the 1973 set for HBW and it is a good one. Currently in the middle of a 73 Red Sox replay. I look forward to your future installments of this replay!

Thanks, Bill. I don't remember what prompted me to pick up 1973, but it sure is a fun set. If you get around to posting any numbers from your Red Sox replay, I'd be interested to see them--they had a pretty interesting mix of players that year.

A's and Orioles seem evenly matched, might come down to who can make the plays off the F and X results.

Good series you have going, Dave! Tough break for the A's losing Rudi. Game 4 with Blue vs. Palmer should be a good one.

I love seeing that Street and Smith's cover. Brings back a lot of memories. It was in one of their yearbooks (maybe 1978) that I first discovered tabletop sports and ordered Sherco II Baseball Simulation. I had a lot of fun playing that game as a kid, but I think I have more fun now playing a wide variety of sports games!

I wasn't sure how to handle injuries, becomes something other than "as-played" if you use them. But in the end it just seemed more fun to let the uncanny X Factor deck call the shots.

Don't believe I ever had a Street & Smith annual, but I still have my 1969 Kessler Whiskey Baseball Fans Guide. The lowdown on all 24 teams, plus instructions on how to make a highball.
