I have played several games with teams having a TURN RET rating of "A" in which that team had multiple touchdowns off interception returns. I believe the results in Column A of the Interception Return Table give too many yards per return. If you calculate it, the average return coming off Column A is 50 yards!!!
Has anybody else drawn the same conclusion about the Interception Return Table? I'm thinking of applying the "A" rating, for those teams that have it, to fumble returns and dropping the TURN RET rating to "B" for interceptions.
You bring up a good point. The methodology behind the rating is solid. However, having one rating for fumble returns and Interception returns could probably be better, although not always. Your suggestion of dropping the Interception return to a "B" would work in most cases.
As I said, in most cases the methodology for the rating is very solid.
