Hi Guys, I' m still not sure I'm using the Home Field ratings correctly. If a home team is rated -1/1 and their Bat rating is G and the visitors Bat rating is N, what would the adjusted ratings be? I' d appreciate the help. Thanks, Joe

To be honest I simply ignore those ratings altogether. I found that the strong teams become stronger and the weak teams become weaker and the weak teams struggle to maintain a poor record that matches real life.
At least the weak teams have a fighting chance and in the long haul they will have a chance to match the overall record.

-1/1 teams are pretty lousy. You subtract one from their Bat rating, while adding one to the visiting team's rating.

So the home team with Bat rating G becomes F. Visiting team with N becomes O.

Thanks for answering this Dave!

Dave, I don't think this is correct. Unless I've been playing it incorrectly, I believe you are supposed to subtract the rating to the right of the slash from the visitor team's rating. So, in this example, the home team rating would become F (by adding -1), but the visitor's team rating would become M (by subtracting 1).

The rules do need a little rewrite in this area, but I know they were clarified in an earlier forum post when the game first came out a couple of years ago.

Thanks, Bill. I had forgotten about that post. Handling it that way would fit in with the other games in the line.
