Pre-playing Monday night's NCAA Final between Duke and Wisconsin at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis using the 2014-15 NCAA Yearbook for POTG Basketball.
Duke has 8 players, Wisconsin has 9, based on who I think has a chance to actually play in Monday night's game. Traevon Jackson of Wisconsin will have his Adjusted Scoring Rolls set at 1 to help replicate his reduced role for the Badgers.
Neutral site, Strength of Schedule is even, as is the Conference Scoring Normalization. Wisconsin has a big edge in Team Defense. Each team had 1 of their negative Defensive Point Adjustments erased in pregame distributions.
Wisconsin has a 10 point advantage to start, but Duke has 2 additional Scoring Rolls. As each team has 3 Scoring Rolls in the #1 spot, Wisconsin has the slimmest of statistical advantages.
Duke was in control until Justise Winslow, in the #3 spot for the Blue Devils, rolled 0-6-0 for a net of 5 points. Wisconsin's player in the #3 spot, Nigel Hayes, rolled 6-6-9 for a net of 21 points and the game was tied. Wisconsin took the lead as Sam Dekker in their #2 spot had a net of 16 points while Quinn Cook in the #2 spot for Duke finished with a net of 9. The Blue Devils still had life however as Jahlil Okafor in the #1 spot finished Duke's Scoring Rolls with 4-5-10 for a net of 17 points. This put Duke up by 10 but Wisconsin still had 3 Scoring Rolls remaining. Frank Kaminsky, in the #1 spot for the Badgers, left no doubt as to which team would wear the crown as he rolled 8-10-9 for a net of 26 points to give Wisconsin an 86-70 victory and their first NCAA Basketball Championship since 1941. |
