Downey Games is proud to announce the release of the TV Wars (1996-1998) Yearbook for Ultra Quick Wrestling.

Frank has created a masterpiece with this set.

The E-Book is available here: http://www.downeygames.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_12_108&products_id=3500

The Printed Year Book is available here: http://www.downeygames.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3_104&products_id=3499

This set includes:

191 male wrestlers

12 female wrestlers

12 Managers

12 Specialty Matches

4 Interview cards

2 Referee Cards

The mid to late 90’s saw a battle between Federations that will never be forgotten. The WCW in a desperate attempt to topple the WWF came very close with their brand of wrestling and the introduction of the nWo (New World Order). The measure of success was Raw vs. Nitro that included the nWo known as the Monday Night Wars. Initially WCW took charge and it seemed as though the WWF would taste defeat but the clever owner and writers at the WWF had other plans. The style of wrestling called “The Attitude Era” took over and the Wars hit its peak. We all know what eventually happened but this set reflecting the wars only hints at an eventual outcome. Everything you need to garner high ratings for Raw or Nitro is here. This is the peak and from this point on the World of Wrestling would never be the same.

Is there a list of wrestlers included in the set? This might be fun to do some legitimate "Invasion" stuff, long before the WWE version.

Decided to check this out. Looks pretty solid, although I nearly had a heart-attack when I couldn't find Bret Hart. Thankfully, it's just because his named was spelled as Brett. Whew!

Carparama, Sorry about the Brett that should have been Bret. I am gald to see that you will do some invasion and have some fun. I hope you will use the Nick Patrick Referee card as an ending to matches for the nWo.

Have some fun with a special time for wrestling.

Frank

No worries. I'm a stickler for spelling, so I notice it a lot. Just was nervous that he wasn't there. Smile

Seems to be a solid roster.

Me too, when it comes to spelling. Rick Flair is one I notice immediately.
I will definitely pick up this set.

Also, which game parts are we supposed to use? I'm guessing we don't move up/down columns based on match modifiers?

EDIT: I also don't see Jeff Farmer, or "fake Sting". I'm not really familiar with how WCW was doing things at that time, so how it is included in the set? Is it just included as part of regular Sting?

That' exactly what I was wondering.

I have "Vintage"...do I now need to purchase the basic "Ultra" for this set or will it work with "Vintage"?

I didn't make the 3 copycats; nWo Sting, Fake Razor Ramon or Fake Kevin Nash. The fake Ramon and fake Nash were only used to make fun of the real wrestlers so they would simply job. The nWo Sting (Farmer)wasn't signed to a regular contract so he was paid by appearance. By 1998 he was mainly in Japan where his popularity was high. Farmer also wrestled as The Scorpion, Cobra, Jeff Barber and Super J.

The one that I am surprised to not see is the Ultimate Warrior. He worked for both organizations and even though he wasn't around for that long, he was a major part of story lines for both feds.

And, yes, I admit that I am surprised about nWo Sting as it set up the "real" Sting story line. Oh well, great set!!!
