My replay is the 1984 football season using Game Winning Drive from Downey Games. Before I give the results from the first week of the season I want to briefly talk about the game itself and customer service at Downey Games. First of all the game itself is very addicting. I have to agree with the “brochure” from the Downey web site. Lastly customer service at Downey Games is AWESOME! I went over my allotted time to download the games (I also bought Ultra Quick Football). I just e-mailed Jeff about the situation and within a couple hours he responded by opening my download time from the site. Thanks, Jeff

I wonder if Hogeboom concealed his identity from the other players until after the game?

Great writeups. My one question is how do you figure in the scoring summaries. Do you have a percentage system for the players and what about the yardage for the runs/pass/FG? GWD is a great game but I always wanted individual stats, even if it's just "who" scored and how.

Edward,

Thanks for the reply. I am glad you asked that question. Every other replay I have done I would use a percentage system for scoring. But this time I decided to try something different. I have used the actual scores (TD runs, TD passes, FG,...) that happened during the 1984 season. So for example, if in my replay Marino threw a 38-yard TD pass to Clayton...he did it during the 1984 season. Any thoughts\comments?

Thanks, Rick

Just an update about my replay. The first week scoring was down 11 points per game. But during the second week scoring was up 1 point per game. Week #3 results coming up along with some stats.

Hi Rick,
Guess you did a lot of research. Maybe what I can do is devise a simple "results" chart with a special X chart for long gains/passes for touchdowns and a simplified FG yardage chart. Just some ideas.

Saints 6 9 1
Rams 3 13
Falcons 3 13

Looking over the standings two things should jump out at you. First, Miami go undefeated...second the Rams win only three games. As hot as the Dolphins were in this replay (scoring over 100 more points than their actual total), the Rams were just as cold (scoring less than 100 points than their actual total). For the most part the replay was close to reality. Now I will move on to the playoffs. First up Wild Card weekend:

Bengals (10-6) @ Broncos (12-4) - Teams met the first week of the season. With the Broncos dominating the Bengals 16-0. Bengals offense six turnovers (1-fumble, 5 interceptions).

Giants (10-5-1) @ Bears (11-5) - Did not meet during the regular season.
