Downey Games is proud to announce the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s College All-Time Greats for Game Winning Drive Football.

The All-Time Greats sets are composed with Strength of Schedule and Strength of Season factored into the ratings. Now you can determine the best college team for each decade.

Team selection for each set matches the selections for GridIron Wars, Mean Gene's Match-Up Football and Goal! Football. These sets make great additions as complimentary sets to those games. And of course, Game Winning Drive veterans know that the game is outstanding as a stand alone product.

The E-Book versions are available here: http://www.downeygames.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_6_84

The Printed games, which feature die-cut cards printed in full color are available here: http://www.downeygames.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_2_85

Game Winning Drive Football allows you to quickly play a game between two teams while capturing the entire ebb and flow of college football. With Game Winning Drive, you’ll be able to “see” teams grind it out on the ground, or throw all over the field for scores. The defensive side of the football is not neglected in Game Winning Drive, as you’ll “see” great defenses in action, and directly impact the game.

As in real football, special teams play and turnovers have an impact in Winning Drive Football. You’ll “see” the impact of a short field for the opposing team after an interception or fumble. The dangerous Kick Returner’s and Punt Returner’s are a factor in Game Winning Drive. No other quick-play game covers all of the elements of football like Game Winning Drive.

While other quick-play games give you a final result, Game Winning Drive tells the “story” of the game. You’ll know precisely why a team wins or loses a contest. Also, unlike other quick playing games, Game Winning Drive adds many strategy elements to add to the realism and excitement of the game.

Do you go for it on 4th down? Do you go for the 2 pt conversion for the win, or kick the PAT for a tie? Do you try for an onside kick, or hope that your defense can shut down the offense for one final drive? With Game Winning Drive, the decisions are yours. There isn’t another quick-playing football game in the market that allows your coaching decisions to impact the game.

Here are the lineups for each set:

Jeff,

I think there's a mistake in the ranges for 1979 Oklahoma in the 1970s College All-Time Sets.

The ranges underneath Score for that team on the e-Book I have are:

TD Run: 11-66
FG: 66-66
TD Pass: 66-66
FG: 66-66

Is this correct?

If you don't mind me answering this question addressed to Jeff,

This is an error and it made the rating program switch to its default mode.

According to the Stats available to me, the range should be:

TD Run: 11-55

FG: 56-61

TD Pass: 62-64

FG: 65-66

A huge range for TD Run due in no small part to Billy Sims contribution with 22 TDs.

Phil

I just noticed that the ratings for Miami 2001 and Miami (Ohio) 2003 are identical in the PDF version of 2000s College Greats. I suppose that is technically possible but seems unlikely. If this has been asked and answered, I apologize. If not, can I get the correct ratings? Thanks.

I'll look into this and have an answer for you. It may be late this evening before I can investigate it though.

I believe that this problem also exists in the 1990's set for 1991 and 1994 Penn State. They are identical.
