I have to give props out to a few regulars on this site for getting me so wrapped up in their week-by-week write-ups that I caught the football bug myself and had to play some.
In no particular order:
RBoecker and his 1971 season replay
rotorhead and his NFL-AFL alternative universe play-through
ACOMPLITAN and his 2010 Chicago Bears season replay
...all of the other crew members who chimed in on discussions on those posts and other posts football related.
I tried a handful of quick/fast play football games and decided to start with GWD. I chose the 1985 Chicago Bears because, well - that was my family's favorite football team and still is.
I stole a lot from the crew I mentioned above for my own write-ups.
There are talented and creative people all over this site.
Being able to re-live and re-watch and re-root for my favorite teams along with the folks on this site make this my single favorite on the web.
Cheers!

Game #2
vs. New England
Bears win 41-13.
The score was eerily similar to the final score of Super Bowl XX.
This game was still a very large blowout.
The Patriots took the lead 7-3 on their first possession and then the 46 defense clicked in.
It was two interceptions and four punts later - the rest of the First Quarter, all of the Second Quarter and most of the Third Quarter - until New England points on the board again.
The Bears scored at will.
Jim McMahon played like he was still at BYU and tossed three touchdown passes.
Chicago Scoring
Field Goal - Butler
Touchdown Run - Payton
Touchdown Pass - McMahon to McKinnon
Touchdown Pass - McMahon to Wrightman
Touchdown Pass - McMahon to Margerum
Touchdown Run - Sanders
Wins: 2 Losses: 0
Actual Game Score: Chicago 20 New England 7
Actual Season Record: Wins: 2 Losses 0
Actual Score of Super Bowl XX: Chicago 46 New England 10 |

Game #3
@ Minnesota
Bears win 23-13.
Turnovers plagued the Vikings - and downright did them in.
Three of Minnesota's first four possessions ended in fumbles.
Quarterback Tommy Kramer threw two interceptions, one on a last-second heave at the end of the game.
With all of their turnover troubles, the Vikings did only trail by ten points at Halftime, 13-3.
Joey Browner then brought Minnesota right back into the game when he intercepted a Jim McMahon pass and took it the distance for a touchdown. The Vikings suddenly only trailed 13-10.
Minnesota could only muster a field goal in the Fourth Quarter against the stiff Chicago defense.
McMahon, who threw three touchdown passes in last week's win over New England, tossed three interceptions and no touchdown passes in the game.
Chicago Scoring
Touchdown Run - Thomas
Field Goal - Butler
Field Goal - Butler
Field Goal - Butler
Touchdown Run - Payton
Wins: 3 Losses: 0
Actual Game Score: Chicago 33 Minnesota 24
Actual Season Record: 3 Wins 0 Losses |
