Post subject: Back to Basics Dodger Tourney
I am picking 16 Dodgers teams (or at least from the same franchise) and playing them in a tourney format. The first 2 rounds will be best-of-3 with the semis best-of-5 and the championship best-of-7. I am going to try and spread out the initial matchups so that the same player doesn't play against himself, but after that it could happen.

First matchup is 1920 Robins vs. the 1963 Dodgers. Grimes vs. Koufax

It just wasn't Sandy's day. He gave up a 2-run double to Kilduff in the first and run-scoring singles by Johnston and Myers in each of the next 2 innings. Koufax settled down after that and allowed no more runs until being lifted in the bottom of the seventh for a pinch hitter.

Dodgers got only one hit against Grimes through four. In the fifth, Fairly doubled and Roseboro singled for a run. Willie Davis singled him to third and two outs later, Wills cut the lead to 4-2 with a single. After that Grimes and Mamaux combined to shutout the Dodgers the rest of the game.

Robins 4 runs, 10 hits, 1 error. Dodgers 2 runs, 7 hits, 0 errors. Koufax allowed 8 hits in 7 innings with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Interesting tournament! Your favorite team can't lose!!!!

I'll be following, Rick. Assuming they are in your tournament, I'll be rooting for the 1977 team.

Yes they are. As a matter of fact, they are up next against the 1941 team.
