Hi,

Was reading the instructions regarding how to use the solitaire portion and am a bit confused. I understand how the offense works but how about the defense. Is that only in the advanced solitaire version. Plus using the FAC card to figure it out is confusing also because you it says to use red for offense and blue for defense. How can you use blue for defense if the range in the advanced is a 1-6 number. Then I read the red is used for 1st half and blue or 2nd half.

On page 5 of the Optional Rule Book, "As you can see, the defensive play calling grid only uses numbers from 1 to 6. As with the 11-66 method for the Offensive Play calling, I find this to be the easiest method to read and implement to save time. When using the locator on the FACs, you will always use the last digit for the defensive play call. I have purposefully designed it as such, so that those that wish to use one color of locators for one half and the other for the second half can do so for offensive plays."

On page 3 of the Optional Rule Book, the simple solitaire system only applies to each team's offense.

"In the Simple Play Calling Method, we only use the solitaire system to determine the type of play run by the offense. The game is tuned for the defense performing as they would in real life by using the ratings and the FACS and FRCS."

Post subject: Mean Gene's penalties
Hi,

Was wondering how penalties are handled in the game? Does the game take into account teams that are heavily penalized?

Penalties are more generalized in Mean Gene's Match-Up Football, when compared to say, GridIron Wars or Goal!, per team. However, the system is robust, and varied.

Page 20 of the rule book covers the penalty system in great detail.
